It’s pretty cool, you can go to the US Patent Office’s website and look up the original patents filed under J Powell that were approved on September 15, 1885. Powell holds patents 326517 – 326522 with that date. You can see the original specs. A neat piece of history. T-Handle: In the research I’ve done, I only came across two of this particular style handle. Not sure if this is limited to earlier versions, or if this is a special type of handle. This could be a unique addition to your collection. About this brass oiler. The Base has #5 stamped on it. It has the original filler hole cover. Top and bottom glass are good and intact with no cracks. Diameter around glass is 9.5. It’s 7.5 tall from top of handle to bottom of screw part.
