Vintage Early Maytag Engine Model 92 Motor 1928 Single Hit Miss Runs! Here is a nice original Maytag 92. I cant quite read all the serial number on this one. It does have a new spark plug. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get the carb set right for starting, it will start and run. This one likes some choke (by holding a finger over the air intake for the first few kicks). It also likes to run with the carb pointer mostly open. The carb could probably use a rebuild at some point. The pulley is a bit bent. I have decided to leave this in it’s “work clothes”. You can choose wether you’d like to restore it further. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby. This would look great at an engine show, or just have it to teach the grandkids about history! Vintage Maytag Engine Model 72 Motor 1940 Twin Hit Miss Runs Great! Here is a nice original Maytag 72 Twin Cylinder. I believe this one was made in 1940. It has the Eisemann magneto. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get the air cap set right for starting, it will sit and run nicely. This engine will usually start with one or two kicks. This does have a little play in the crank bushings (as most do) that you can see when its running or if you grab the flywheel and shake it. This doesnt seem to affect the running at all. It looks like the kickstart pedal has been repaired at some point, and I think the pedal cover isnt quite mounted correctly. I have decided to leave this engine in its work clothes, as far as refreshing. You can choose wether youd like to restore it further or run it as it is. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby. This would look great at an engine show, or just have it to teach the grandkids about history! Neat old antique tin toy wind-up engine with original paint. This was made by a company that once produced other versions & sizes of early tin wind-up toys. This company never seemed to put names on their engines. This engine is their gas engine toy & it was made in two sizes with this one here being the largest. This toy engine was made a long time ago & it has old thick original paint on it. Its an early model & Id guess it was made around 1895 to 1910. No history came with the engine; its just been sitting on a shelf for the last 50 years. Overall its in good shape with nice original paint. The wind-up mechanism is all there but is not working & will need messed with. Engine stands about 4 tall & has a 2-3/4 diameter flywheel. Thanks & please check out my other items. Neat old antique tin toy wind-up engine with original paint. This was made by a company that once produced other versions & sizes of early tin wind-up toys. This company never seemed to put names on their engines. This steam engine toy also has the original vertical belt drive governor on it. This toy engine was made a long time ago & it has old thick original paint on it. Its an early model & Id guess it was made around 1895 to 1910. No history came with the engine; its just been sitting on a shelf for the last 50 years. Overall its in good shape with nice original paint but the top of the crank guard has a slight bend in it right before it joins to the top of the cylinder. This would be an easy fix. Also the wind-up mechanism is all there but is not working & will need messed with. Engine stands about 4-1/2 tall to the top of the governor & has a 2-3/4 diameter flywheel. MODEL B-33 ELECTRIC HIT & MISS STEAM ENGINE. When I was a kid, we had these engines. The poorer kids had the manually-fired ones with charcoal or sterno-fired boilers, and we resented the rich kids who had the electrically-heated boilers that they could just plug in. Ours were messy, and you had to wait for the boiler to get “fired-up”. So, when I first bought this engine (along with a few peripheral parts-see my other auctions) I was mystified when I examined it. There WAS no “boiler”! When I looked it up on a collector site, they said that this model was likely made as a hobby-shop or toy store window dressing, pumping away and spinning various tools continuously, without having to keep an eye on boiler water levels. With a transformer a several sets of points, it chugs away just like a “real” steam engine. The cast-iron base measures 7″ by 11″. This engine DOES work, with a little “help” to get it moving. It needs a good cleaning of all it’s parts (including the points) and a good lubing to run trouble-free. Scotch yoke linkage model steam engine. A scotch yoke mechanism does away with a lot of the side thrust that a conventional connecting rod engine would have. By the patina & look of the brass throttle valve fitting Id guess it was made in the 1920s or 1930s sometime. This engine has the style of some of the old marine engine models that were shown in the early Popular Mechanics magazines around that time. The engine has wear on it; the main bearings could stand bushings & the eccentric could stand a bushing as well. The engine turns over ok but there is a slightly stiff spot near bottom dead center. The engine runs but it uses a lot of air & doesnt have much power. Even if its not rebuilt, the engine has a neat look to it & would look good on a display shelf. Its base measures about 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 square & the engine is about 4-3/8 tall. Neat early slanted cast A-frame marine-type twin cylinder steam engine. Engine has nice detailed castings with original paint. There is no makers name on the engine. The engine turns over nice & runs with very little air. The only thing I seen that it is missing is one of the straight brass exhaust pipes which would be easy to replace. The engine stands 5 tall. The wood base measures 7 x 5 & the engine weighs about 3.5 lbs. No history came with the engine; its just been sitting on a shelf for the last 50 years. Thanks & please check out my other items. Old Vintage Original 6 Spoke Cast Iron Wheel Set For Gas Engine Hit Miss Truck. They are 5 diameter with a. The axle hole is 5/8. Comes with the original axles that are 22 1/8 long overall and has a nice set of the original washers. Wheels have part #PA13 cast on one of the spokes. No cracks welds or repairs.
