Here is a very nice Webster AMM low tension magneto. This mag is the same as a model M but has a double magnet. It has an excellent spark. It is an aluminum or white metal frame mag. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE this is a low tension mag and will not fire a spark plug! It is meant to be used with an igniter. The spark on a mag like this will not jump an air gap! I tested this mag by visually assessing the spark it produced while rubbing a bare wire against the body of the mag while turning the shaft with the springs off. Aluminum or white metal frame. 1-1/2″ x 2″ Mounting pattern, all the studs are tight in their holes. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. Here is a very nice and rare Webster R2 flat bar friction magneto. It is a very nice unit with original paint. I think the was originally meant to be driven off an old gas engine and meant to be used to make power for the ignition system. An engine cannot start off a generator like this but it can take the place of batteries once the engine is running. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Made in Tiffin Ohio. Would look excellent on your engine or in you man cave! About 10″ long, 4-5/8″ wide, 6 tall. The bearings have a small amount of wear. I hooked up to a 12 volt battery and it spun right away just like it should. This is a heavy item, it weighs 14 lbs before any box and packing material. The oil hole is broken out a little bit in the rear. This is a common problem and will not hurt the operation of the mag. It is an aluminum or white metal frame mag. The studs have been replaced and they are all tight in their holes but the mag body seems a little broken out around the are the enter the mag. It should work fine the way it is and you will not be able to see that area when it is installed on the igniter bracket on the engine. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE this is a low tension mag and will not fire a spark plug! It is meant to be used with an igniter. The spark on a mag like this will not jump an air gap! No breaks, crack, or welds except on one oiling hole is chipped out doesn’t affect. I reserve the right to end item early for local sale. Here is a Webster Model M. The spark on this one is very hot! Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. Original name tag or band. The bearings only have very minimal wear, I took the springs off and spun the armature and felt a s trong magnetic pull and no drag. I recharged this mag right before I took the pictures. The mounting pattern is 1-1/2″ x 2″ on center. It looks like the studs have been replaced, a couple wiggle just a tiny little bit but they all seem very solid. One of the spring holder end plates is brass and one is cast iron. I think the brass one is probably a later factory replacement part, it is hard to notice they do not match and it will not hurt anything. This mag is for an igniter and will not fire a spark plug. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. If you want advice on how to use it please give me a call and I’ll be glad to help. Please do not tear it apart to “clean it” or “paint it” and then try to return it or get me to pay for a rebuild because it stopped working. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for.
