Here is a rare Wizard Model ES friction magneto. I have never seen other like it. I think it was originally meant to be driven off an old gas engine flywheel and meant to be used to make power for the ignition system. An engine cannot start off a generator like this but it can take the place of batteries once the engine is running. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Would look excellent on your engine or in you man cave! The bearings have some wear but nothing that should hurt anything. I hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it took off right away and spun just as it should. This is a heavy item, it weighs 21 lbs before any box and packing material. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. This item in a complex antique electronic mechanical unit. Please don’t act like a cave man and send me emails grunting “my friend mag guy says need rebuilt you pay he bill” or “I took apart now now it no work I send back”. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. The shaft is bent just a tiny bit so the friction wheel wobbles a slight amount. I hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it took off right away and spun just as it should. Two mounting holes 4-13/16 apart on center. This is a heavy item, it weighs 13 lbs before any box and packing material. Here is a Wizard Type 3 low tension magneto. It is pretty much ready to use but there is a very slight drag on the armature. I think it would work just fine the way it is or it may need some new bearings. I have had the armature out and it looks really good. 1/2 shaft for gear mounting. Mounts with 4 holes 3-1/4″ x 2″ on center. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. Nice original wizard antique stationary gas engine magneto for a waterloo boy, rock island challenge root and vandervoort and many other hit and miss motors. Mag looks in good condition and was rebuilt recently but I have not tested it. Everything looks good and the arms are in good condition that are often broken.
