This is a real nice original cast iron clutch pulley for a 2 1/2hp Mogul or 3hp Type M gas engine made by the International Harvester Company. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except one repaired spoke on the carrier. A very nice job was done and it’s very tough to notice especially when it’s on an engine. Everything works as it should and there doesn’t seem to be very much wear anywhere on the pulley. It has new wooden shoes installed and is ready to go to work. The pulley has a 4 1/2 inch face and is 10 inches in diameter. It has a 1 3/4 inch bore to fit on the crankshaft. It is a factory pulley for 2 1/2hp Mogul or 3hp M as shown in the parts books. It will fit on other engines with a 1 3/4 inch crankshaft as well. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original clutch pulleys are next to impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off! They also make it much easier to run belt driven implements with your engine. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. This one is ready to be put to work on an engine or put into your inventory for a spare. The pictures tell the story. This engine is in excellent mechanical condition, and is equipped with the factory, high tension magneto setup. Compression is very good. Mag produces a good spark. Engine starts and runs very well, as you can see in the video. Only flaw with the engine is about a 1/8 or less wobble on the pulley side flywheel. The flywheel is in great shape and nice and tight on the crank, I see nothing wrong, it will never give you any trouble. The air shroud is a nice handmade reproduction and looks nice. There are NO cracks, breaks or welds on this engine that I can find. Not many New Way Jewels out there especially with the magneto. Would make a great addition to any collection. Comes with a good working starting crank (not original). We are 100 miles north of Detroit. This engine belongs to a good friend, just down the road. Witte 12 hp headless hit and miss engine. It was restored in about 1968 and i have had it all apart for a through cleaning and was running before the cleaning. There are no cracks, breaks or welds on this engine and it is on the original trucks and even has beside the metal tongue the original horse drawn tongue. It has the original clutch belt pulley and those are seldom seen on these large engines The serial number is 18182 with flywheels 3×38 and still has the original crankshaft stamped with that number. It has the original kerosene heating muffler that made it run on that fuel. It is hooked up now to the small gas tank and the large tank is there but not usable. It has the Wizard R1 generator with new leathers and was tested and does work. It has all new period wire with the buzz coil and 12 volt battery. I found a 1915 Mo license plate to put on the tool box for the fun of it. I will answer any and all questions. Date stamped on the end of crankshaft 7 31 02. One wheel on cart has been fabricated repaired. It is mounted on a homemade cart but it is a very well built one, and works great. Good gas tank, no leaks, and no water leaks either. Comes fully equipped with a battery and coil. Has the correct, good working Fairbanks oiler on it, with the female pipe threads. Original crank guard is on it and in very nice shape. The muffler is not correct but works very nice. Has the original tin battery box and original nameplate. NO welds on the engine! Knife switch on the battery box works just as it should, and so does the speed control lever for the governor. This engine is ready to work or play. This is truly ready to hit the shows tomorrow, just need gas and oil. I ran it today on a half tank of gas for almost 10 hours!! I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for. The engine has almost zero wear, every pin and bushing is nice and tight with no slop. You can even seen the original factory machining marks in the bore yet! Looks to have a rebuilt Wico EK magneto on it, if it’s not rebuilt it’s just as good as rebuilt. Start easy, and runs perfect. No clunks, knocks or bad noises with this one. NO welds or issues. Mounted on non-original skids but they serve the purpose fine. Green wagon in pictures is not included in sale! You don’t come across engines in this condition every day, so if you are into all original farm fresh engines, here is your chance. Pulley side of engine has awesome original paint and the decal is basically fully intact. Magneto side decal is a little more faded but still very nice. I ran the engine for about 6 hours the other day and it never missed a beat. Flywheels run straight as an arrow. Factory muffler and pulley. Good gas tank, no leaks. No water leaks either. I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for. Here is a true barn find 1 1/2 HP Economy hit & miss engine. It is as found un touched and unmolested. Engine is NOT stuck and turns freely, There is not much compression at this time but it is all dry from sitting. As you can see this engine is complete and has a fair amount of paint still visible, with a bit of cleaning and tinkering I think this engine can be is show condition in no time at all. An adjustable wrench marked IHC. The display is about 19-1/4″ x 17-1/2″. Everything seems to be in great shape. Most items will go out faster though.
