Been in our collection over 40 years, always stored inside, no breaks or welds found. Have a Waterloo Boy (early round hopper) water-cooled, and a water-cooled, Waterloo Boy (oval style hopper) for sale. Will put on E-Bay if there is interest, let us know. The carburetor is not correct but works great, probably better than the correct carb, it’s an Essex which is quite a hard carburetor to find. This engine runs just as good as it looks. ONLY damage is one chipped fin on the head, hardly worth mentioning. This engine has been totally gone through by the last owner, new gas tank, new knife switch, new ignition wires, new battery box, new leather fan belt, new check valve, new nameplate, new fan, rebuilt ignitor, valve job, custom made platform on wheels to make moving the engine very easy, and I’m sure more things were done I’m not aware of. Paint job still looks great, flawless pinstriping. Absolutely no detent hammering, and the compression is very good. This engine is perfectly in time, both ignition and valve timing. Comes with a nice, hot, low tension coil that you can see in the video. This engine is ready for the shows, all you need is a 6 or 12 volt battery and some gas. Feel free to ask questions! This engine has been restored in recent years and done quite well. The engine has new valves, a new rocker arm pin with oil hole, a rebuilt ignitor, as well as a brand new gas tank with no leaks. Good working ball check oiler. This engine is complete, including the pulley, crankguard, and muffler. The cart this engine is on is homemade, but it is one of the nicest built carts I’ve come across yet, look at the pictures and I think you will agree. When the previous owner rebuilt the engine, instead of sleeving the engine, he knurled the piston which is another way to gain compression, and it worked quite well, the engine has good compression. The only negative on this engine is, the pulley side flywheel has about a 1/4 wobble, it’s the crankshaft that is bent, the flywheel has no issues, and the wobble hurts nothing. This engine is perfectly in time, runs smooth, coasts good, and is ready to hit the shows this summer and fall! Please see pictures and video, and decide for yourself. The engine is in near perfect mechanical condition, you will be able to tell that when you hear it run in the video. It is mounted on a nice set of heavy skids. The gas tank is an old gas can, but it works just fine. The engine is complete with the exception of a muffler and pulley. The engine has so much compression and backpressure the oiler wasn’t working very good which is why it is off in the pictures and video, I will include a nice oiler with the engine. Compression is super and the wear is almost non existent. The rocker arm is welded, but it looks like a nice solid repair. Flywheels run nice and true. This engine has none of the normal clunks, knocks, or bad noises most engines do, it has very, very few hours on it. You can even see the original lathe marks in the bore yet. This is a really early United with the removable hopper and straight ignitor trip. This engine only needs a new owner and a show to take it to, NO tinkering required. Please see description, pictures, and video. This engine is in really nice shape, there are no cracks, breaks or welds. The compression is exceptional. It is mounted on a custom built set of oak skids, and the skids are attached to a nice set of trucks. No gas tank leaks, and no water leaks anywhere. The engine is complete, including a nice muffler, and the crankgaurd. The webster magneto is good and hot and starts the engine right up every time with no trouble. This engine was always an indoor engine since new, the repaint is flaking off and you can see how nice the engine is underneath. The nameplate even has the original paint on it yet. The governor works just as it should, it will run all day without skipping a beat. This engine is ready to hit the shows this summer, it needs nothing but gas and oil. Has a good looking set of heavy cast brass grease cups on the mains. If your looking for a nice, fairly uncommon engine to display at the shows, look no further, they don’t get much nicer that this.
