Here’s a vintage Maytag twin cylinder hit and miss gas engine model 72-D. It has good spark and compression. I’m not sure if it runs. I picked this up from the estate of a collector. It will not come with the mounting board shown. It will be packaged properly. I’ll be happy to answer any questions. Heres an old Maytag 72 twin I’ve had for a few years and never got around to restoring. This one is straight off the washing machine and I have not ran it. It has the screen type flywheel guard , cast iron fuel tank and still has the muffler pipe fitting also. Its still in original paint and has normal dirt , rust and wear but nothing broken or cracked or repaired that i see. The air valve works fine and is not stuck. The motor turns good and has compression but i never got around to cleaning the points and checking spark. The return spring on the kick starter is broken but its a 2 dollar part. I stuck a couple new NGK plugs in that i had lying around but you may want to put original plugs in. I will also include a new complete gasket set so you can do a tear down and good cleaning before starting her up. Other locations will be more. Thanks for looking and good luck!!! I have for sale a Maytag model 72-D in running condition. I was told it ran and after sitting for years I gave it a try for the first time. Within a few minutes I had it running for 10-20 second intervals. I did assist by holding a finger over the carb end holes. The engine does not stay running so I’m sure there is an issue with it getting gas to the cylinders. (most likely clogged with blue silicon, lol) Not my work, thank you. The spark is good to both sides and it runs smoothly when it does go. Anyway I’m passing this project on to someone with more time than me. Don’t no much about this, dont no if it runs or not, it does turn over and one of the spark plug wires the end is off but im sure the wires need to be replaced. This maytag motor, was told it runs fine, i dont know how to start or shut off, cranks nice, has spark, great restore piece, twin engine thought to be 72-d but havent seen 72-d on motor, this is your win pictured. I can hear compression, I DO NOT SEE SPARK OR see spark jump & was told it needs air adjuster to run,,, i do NOT know what this is,, you get this motor pictured, as-is as-found.
