Up for sale is a original cylinder from a IHC Aircooled Tom Thumb hit & Miss engine. Good spark plug threads. Good fan assembly threads. Good cylinder Oiler threads. One fin is chipped. No other breaks or welds. 3 11/16 cylinder bore. Valve chest area looks good with minor dings to where the gaskets would seat, very usable. Please read and see all pictures as I’ll do my best to describe it!! When looking at the back of the cylinder (where part numbers are located) from the edge of the skirt and into the cylinder about 4 inches or 3 fins in, the cylinder walls look great. After 4 inches in, the walls have pitting clear to the front of the cylinder. Also, where that 4inch mark is (or 3 fins in) there is a deep groove that is at the bottom of the cylinder and is around 2 inches widespread at the bottom area. It is a rather deep groove and I’m not sure if it’s from rust or water damage but it certainly will be an issue with the rings of a piston if something isn’t done. Sorry for the confusing description and hopefully some of it makes sense. Please see all pictures.

What you see is what I have. What is there looks to all be in usable condition. I don’t see any breaks or welds. Not really sure why the previous owner parted this engine out to this current state of condition other than I think he was trying to make one really good engine for his personal collection. Nice Air-cooled cylinder from a upright Fuller & Johnson pump engine. No breaks, cracks, or repairs that I can see. The head mounting studs are spaced 3 1/4 apart from each other on centers. The 4 holes that hole the cylinder to the block are spaced 3 7/8 apart from each other. Nice Oiler and exhaust threads. The cylinder should shine up nicely with a light hone job. Has some very light pitting towards the upper part of the cylinder on one side. The cylinder walls in one area does have some wrist pin “scratches” I have seen far worst Grooves then what this cylinder has. A finger nail barely catches/snags when scraping against the “scratched” area. Please see all pictures for the absolute best description. This item is old and used, it’s not new. I believe with some minor work this cylinder would work just fine.

I have not tried running this engine. Needs a gas tank and the plug wire is not in very good shape. I assume itll need some work before it can run. For parts or major restoration. The engine is stuck. Missing some parts, a couple fins on the head is chipped. There is a piece broken from the gear assembly that the kick pedal hits against. I did take the side cover off the flywheel and the ignition is there. It appears the governor is just laying loose behind the flywheel. PleAse see pictures for best description. The crank handle has been found and the engine is turning as is the fan.
