ASSOCIATED UNITED MAGNETO BRACKET 4 Bolt Angle Drive Hit and Miss Old Gas Engine

This is a 4 bolt magneto bracket for a Associated or United engine. It is missing its gear. If you have a repaired bracket like this one of your engines just switch out the gear and you would have a perfect setup. Missing gear, the shaft the gear goes one looks excellent and is 5/8 in diameter. The mag mounting holes are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ apart on center. The mounting holes to the engine are 1-3/4 apart on center. The push rod slot is 3/4. It is part number DVE. No cracks, breaks, or welds. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. Here is a nice brass body Associated high bar low tension magneto. This mag is in great shape and ready to use. I think this is the first version of this type of magneto as the brass body has a little bit different shape that most. This mag is very hot and only has a very minimal or no amount of wear. I would expect it to be able to start and run an engine for many years to come. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE this is a low tension mag and will not fire a spark plug! It is meant to be used with an igniter. The spark on a mag like this will not jump an air gap! I tested this mag by visually assessing the spark it produced while rubbing a bare wire against the body of the mag while turning the shaft with the springs off. The bearings seem very nice with no or minimal wear. 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ mounting pattern, the threads in these holes are perfect. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. This item in a complex antique electronic mechanical unit. Vintage Scale Model Associated, Johnny Boy Gas Engine. Machined from Paul Breisch castings, circa: mid 1970′s. I was told that it has not been run for 3 or 4 years. The engine has 6-inch flywheels and is machined from mostly cast iron and brass. It has compression and spark at the igniter. It appears that there is a pin or stud missing from the side of the cylinder block, near the igniter, that supports the igniter strike lever. (See the picture with the pencil). Never the less, it is repairable. Note: the igniter still works freely when the engine is turned over by hand. Other than that, the engine looks to be complete and in really good shape. I don’t see any cracks or damage. It does have faded and chipped paint, with some surface rust and blemishes and over-all wear that would be expected with age and use. The coil has some varnish scraped off the bottom. Please review the pictures carefully, since they are also part of the description. If you have a question please don’t hesitate to ask.
