There are no breaks or repairs that we see in this Motsinger Auto Sparker. It turns over freely and the fly ball governor functions properly. It still has its original paint with pin striping (see pictures). We were able to see some voltage output on our meter when we hand cranked the pulley. The auto sparker is patented on feb 6 1900 the last patent is march 10 1903.. From what i can find out it is for assisting starting up old stationary gas engines, i believe. This one is missing a bunch of parts that i can surmise from searching the internet. The good points are that it exists and the arbor spins freely and it is not too beat up. And according to what i have found. This example of, the auto sparker has the original leather fly/pulley wheel. The previous owner used this example as a display. The previous owner mounted it on a metal plate and the eye hook he hung it from the ceiling joints in the garage.. The auto sparker is untested. I do not know if it works. Please see pictures for condition and what parts are and are not present. Any information will be appreciated. This auto sparker weighs about 18 pound as pictured. Vintage ford model t car/truck brass era auto antique brass stationary old hit & miss magneto/steam engine antique magnet charger industrial age steampunk. Early original unmarked magnet charger was nicely-made of mostly cast iron with a wood base and solid brass fittings. Looks to be factory made… Uncertain of the power source requirements… Possibly 6-volt powered ??? Has a knife switch control and. Measures about 7 inches long by 4-3/8 inches wide by 5-1/4 inches tall. Probable uses are magneto and speedometer magnet recharging etc. It came from estate of hit & miss/steam engine/ford model a t era parts collector. Appears to be good used with some wear/marks/light surface rusting/most of the cloth wire coil covering is gone/etc. Please see photos for condition details.
