This is a real nice old Edwards #5 alligator metal shear. It is fresh from an old collectors estate and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. Everything moves and interacts as it should. There are a couple nicks on the shear bars but it should work the way it is or these could easily be replaced. These shears are a great addition to your blacksmith shop setup or display and they really speed up material gathering in working shops! I can deliver them for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, engine shows later this year. They can also be picked up here. The pictures tell the story. This listing is for a very early band saw sharpening machine. The name plate says NO. Approximate size is 34 inches tall, 40 inches wide, length is 35 inches plus 16 inch small. Shaft for a total length of 51 inches. This band saw blade sharpener will sharpen bands up to eight (8) inches wide. This very early machine is flat belt drive (no motor). Estimate grinding wheel up to ten (10) inch. This company is still in business and I have tried to contact them regarding date. Of manufacture and machine weight, but no response. I have no way to weigh this machine but would guess it to be in the area of 500 pounds. I would guess that this machine is over 60 years old. I have had it in storage for 30+ years. This machine could be of interest to woodworking, sawmill, old tooling and wood, make. An interesting accessory for displaying an old hit miss engine. This machine appears to be complete, I see no evidence of breakage but since I have. Inspection but must sell AS-IS. Presently the machine is on but not attached to a standard pallet but overhangs which is. Not acceptable to most shippers. No charge for present pallet. This listing is for an antique one (1) cylinder engine. Tag reads BAKER MANUFACTURING CO. TYPE VJ MONITOR HP 1 1/4??? Estimated date of manufacture is 1930. This engine is approximately 30 1/2 inches tall, 22 inches wide, and 20 inches deep. The flywheel is approximately 17 3/4 inch diameter and contains a foldup cranking handle. It has a pancake type muffler. This engine is vertical with the cast water jacket above and around the head. In the pictures, AS IS. This belt shifter is for starting and stopping your machine that is ran by a line shaft. It’s more positive than the common wooden handle shifters. This assembly includes greased bearings and a clutch fork with belt guides for moving the belt to the idler pulley. The idler pulley can be greased from the end of the shaft and has grease holes in the shaft. The main bearings have threaded holes for grease zirks. Please take a close look at the pictures. Length 36″, large wheel 3 1/4″ x 14 “, small wheel 3 1/4 x 6″, and 3 5/8″ by 6″, main shaft 1 1/8″, shifting handle 52″, total weight 98 lb. This is a rather hard to find and pretty nice old tire roller that was commonly used by blacksmiths to roll tires for wheels and rolling other miscellaneous steel and iron into curves. It is in good used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a collar being added to the end of the infeed roller. This is to keep the needle bearings in it. It turns nicely and the needle bearings seem to move as they should. The roller is about 23 inches long overall and measures little over 6 inches between the shoulders of the rollers. It works good and would be an indespensible tool to make even arches and curves in even quite heavy steel. The outfeed idler roller is adjustable for many size radii of curves. It will need a square socket hand crank or you could use a wrench to use it. It is marked Ideal No. These original blacksmith tools are increasingly hard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for your shop here’s your chance. I can deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. The pictures tell the story.
