Up for immediate sale is a rare old original 1920′s era AMERICAN – BOSCH MAGNETO TEST BENCH. It includes a reversible 110-volt variable speed electric motor, a 2,500 RPM mechanical Tachometer plus an adjustable Spark Gap attachment. The Stand’s Drawer has various specialty Magneto tools and Magneto drive adapters. The previous owner operated an Electrical Repair Shop in southern Indiana (they did Speedometer & Magneto Repair) which was started by his Dad in the early 1900′s. 50″ tall x 49″ long x 26/3/4 deep. CONDITION : Good used with expected wear etc… This was in operation up until a few months ago. Please closely examine our photos for additional details. Bosch BA1 ED2-F-YI magneto. The mag is very clean and very hot. Last picture shows it jumping a 7/16 spark. All brass and bolt holes are excellent. I’ve cleaned the points and greased the bushings. This is a rather hard to find original American Bosch AB33 flick or trip type magneto for a Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It is as found from the inventory of the estate of an early engine collector. It seems to be in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It has the short trip arm on it. It has the original points cover with all of the patent dates on it which is often missing. It is not stuck but it is pretty stiff. It would greatly benefit from a disassembly and cleaning! The two mounting holes have excellent threads in them and the two original brass locating pins are still in the other two. These AB33 magnetos are really tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for a restoration here one is. It’s one of the nicest ones I’ve had in 20 years. Robert Bosch magneto for hit miss engine, tractor, auto, steam. Mag is in good condition and ready to use. Not sure what this fits. BRASS mag that is very solid to use. Threads are all in good shape. Mag throws a nice blue spark on spark plug. Flipper is 3 long. I recharged the magnets to make sure it was at full strength. 2″ X 2 3/4″ mounting spacing. Guaranteed to be a HOT mag. Missing the screws thru the magnets but they are on good and tight without screws. Back cap has been damaged but works fine. I reserve the right to end this item early for local sale. If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I have it and haven’t gotten around to it yet so just check with me. Like I said I have done this a long time and try to list everything accurately to explain all the good and the bad. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper, I won’t take it back. This magneto would be correct for a few different engines, one being I believe a Lorenz sideshaft. I know this is correct for other engines as well, possibly early Listers? The mag is in near new condition. Everything is in great unworn condition. Throws a great spark when tripped. Very unworn armature, no grinding or binding at all. Top cover is cast aluminum and says Bosch “type 33″. Patented – patents pending. Stamped on the side on the base is a serial number and it says New York. Points look like brand new, as well as points cover. Base where is mounts is 2 1/4″ wide and 3 3/4″ long. Bolt spacings on centers is 3. Very hard to find magneto, so don’t pass it up if you are needing one! This mag is ready to use. Feel free to ask questions. Bosch magneto for hit miss engine, early auto, tractor, not sure?? Mag is in good condition and ready to use. Leaving the mag with original patina, new owner can shine up if desired. This is a trip mag and not a rotary mag. High tension magneto means used with sparkplug engines. I tripped mag on the bench and gave a nice spark. I think Witte used these mags also. 1 5/8″ x 2 1/4″ bolt spacing for the treaded holes. 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ mounting spacing that bolts mag to bracket. Reads “BOA” on the front. If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I have it and haven’t gotten around to it yet so just check with me. Like I said I have done this a long time and try to list everything accurately to explain all the good and the bad. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper, I won’t take it back.
