ANTIQUE 1928 PINK MAYTAG GAS ENGINE HIT MISS WRINGER WASHER BREAST CANCER

ANTIQUE 1928 PINK MAYTAG GAS ENGINE HIT MISS WRINGER WASHER BREAST CANCER

First I would like to say this was a real pleasure to restore this engine for the fight against BREAST CANCER and all the proceeds go to Cancer Patient Services. I had two woman that had passed due to Breast Cancer, Janet Shulaw (MOM) and Phillis Kilgore (Ex Mother in-law) I didn’t know for sure what colors to use so I had Val “Shulaw” Dawson pick out the colors for me. 100 percent of these proceeds and cash donations will be donated to Cancer Patient Services. The flywheel has serial # 316418 stamped on it which means it was produced in Oct 1 to Dec 14 1928 by Maytag the washing machine company. The gas drive washers were intended for the household without electricity in the first half of the 1900s. This was a huge labor saver for the modern house wife at the time. I have been restoring these engines for over 10 years now and I sell a lot of them. The ribbon was traced then painted and the Maytag on the skid was done the same way. This engine was completely taken apart and sand blasted, cleaned and painted with Du-Pont paint. The Decal is the proper decal that I made on my own silk screen press and are of the finest quality and to exacting detail. I take a lot of pride in these motors and I like to do a little extra detailing like the lettering and some of the numbers as you can see in the pictures, I think it makes the motor’s stand out better. As you can see this engine is complete and not missing any parts such as the pulley or air cleaner. It has new gaskets, decals, rings, condenser and spark plug wire with new ends and new spark plug. Carburetor was rebuilt and I also honed the Cylinder jug and installed new piston rings. It also has a new caution plate with the model number stamped on it and a replica kill switch. The tank and top plate was sealed internally so it will not rust again. As you can see I do not paint the flywheels like some people. It took me 2 days to hand polish this flywheel with NO power tools at all. After putting it all back together I ran 3 tanks of fuel through it and it runs great as all the motors I restore do. The Maytag is a two cycle engine so it requires oil to be mixed in the gas. Ask me for mixing instructions. All it needs now is fuel and you can start it with your hand, it is that easy to start If you would want to run it. It will take 5 days to pack the engine. I use foam spray to pack the motor and it takes a lot of foam and the foam needs plenty of time to cure. I did take this engine to a few shows to show it and the bottom of the fuel tank did get some scratch’s on it and I tried to touch them up with a brush. As I have said, this engine is being auctioned to raise awareness and funds for a good cause, to support those in the fight against Breast Cancer. You never know when the next Lady affected may be someone close to you. If you have already had someone in your life attacked by this disease you will know how I feel too. That is why I did this.
