The “LUNKENHEIMER” carburetor came off a Vaughn horizontal hit-miss motor. It was used with a large saw blade for trimming-cutting lumber type operation. Not being familiar with hit miss-motors, I do not know what condition to say the carburetor is in. The inside diameter across from thread to thread is 3/4″, if that helps and is marked “L. ” near one opening, and “LUNKENHEIMER two times. The dial is numbered 1 thru 8 and appears to operate very smoothly. Included are several oilers and a “Valvespout” hand oil can manufactured by Continental Arms Corp. One oiler is a “LUNKENHEIMER” No. 1 1/2 and appears to be in good working condition. The other oiler is an “OIL-RITE” 1 1/2″ inches in diameter and 4 1/2″ inches in length and is in good working condition. The three other “OIL-RITE” oilers are damaged and not usable. The threaded ends are broken off two oilers, and one oiler is bent. They are only usable for their many still good parts. The grease cup is a POWEL MONGUL #2 made of brass with nice knurling around the cap edge. Here is a carb from possibly a 4 or 6hp IHC famous or victor gas engine based on looking at pics in catalogs. It was used on a fuller & johnson 5hp DE for 44 years that my family owned. It has a adapter on the intake end to fit the bolt holes on a DE. This is what i have. One return pipe needs to be extracted from the threaded area on the bottom. This is a very hard to find original fuel mixer for a 2 or 3hp International Harvester Vertical Famous or Titan hit and miss gas engine. I believe it also fits the Famous Junior engines. It is part number G1583 and mounts to the side of the head with two holes 3 inches apart on center. There are no cracks breaks or repairs in the castings that I can see or know of. The fuel needle has been replaced at some point and it appears to be too short. I would be easy enough to make a longer one and also make the knob smaller as the originals were. The choker pin in the lower intake also needs to be replaced. The overall assembly measures about 18 inches long. It needs some attention to the thread on the bottom of the fuel bowl but this should be pretty straightforward. With just a little effort it should be ready to go to work on an engine or on the shelf for a spare. These vertical Famous parts are tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don’t miss your chance on it. The pictures tell the story. This is a very hard to find small Kingston brass 5 ball carburetor for an early motorcycle, stationary or marine engine, or tractor. It is in as found condition from an old farm estate. It has 1 inch npt pipe threads with a 3/4 inch bushing in it. The throttle shaft has some slight wear. The fuel needle moves as it should. It is missing the lower bowl and some other parts but the casting and hard parts are there! I think with some patience or a few contacts the missing pieces should be findable. There are some wrench marks on the mounting collar that could be massaged out or at least reduced a bit with a little effort. The original name tag is on it and appears to be upside down from the factory. These original brass Kingston 5 ball carburetors are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a pretty nice one.
