1916 Associated Hit & Miss Engine This antique 1916 Associated 3 Mule Team 3hp. Hit and miss engine is on what I believe to be the correct cart. If you are afraid of compression or want to work on an engine, this is not the one for you. Rebuilt four bolt brass mag, usually starts on first pull (hand crank included with sale), runs great, nice and slow with no cracks breaks or weld. This one is ready to run and have fun with for many years to come. I can store it safely out of the weather for a few months once paid in full. PS: the old boy is running in all of the pictures. 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp Hit & Miss Engine Antique 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp. Hit and miss engine on Waterloo cart. Twenty years ago the previous owner had it bored and sleeved, with new rings, and crank. Two wheels on the cart have old repairs and all the wheels are a bit wobbly with age but cart pulls nice and is solid. I would guess that the head has an old repair, lower left side, but not sure on that either, starts easy and runs great, (sure on that) crank guard is a reproduction. I can help with loading on this end. I can store it out of the weather for a few months once paid in full, if needed. PS: the old boy is running in some of the pictures. Old CAST IRON Locomotive Steam Engine HEADLIGHT Railroad Hit Miss Tractor NICE

This is a real nice old headlight for a railroad locomotive. It is very unusual in that it is mostly cast iron construction. The housing and bonnet are all cast iron and the mounting framework is steel. It has a great look to it and is in excellent condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than the pivot pin in the hinge for the lens and the nut that holds it closed. It is also missing a small portion of one of the side lens retainers but this would be an easy repair and doesn’t affect anything the way it is. This light is quite large measuring about 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 18 inches tall. As you can see I wired a temporary cord onto it. It lights up just as it should. The wires coming out of the housing are old and hard and should probably be replaced but it does work the way it is. The temporary cord I will keep for my next project. It has had the original glass locomotive number panels that go in the side frames replaced with masonite panels. It is extremely bright and really lights up the neighborhood at night! It has “GN” casting numbers and I don’t know which railroad it originally came from. If you do please educate me. I do know that lights like this are. Extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. I can also deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, swap meets or engine shows next year. The pictures tell the story. This is a rather hard to find original cast iron cone type muffler for a Hercules or other hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in original condition with non cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is about 10 3/8 inches in diameter and about 4 1/2 inches “thick”. It has 2 inch NPT threads and they are in great shape. These original cast iron mufflers are often missing on engines. They are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. This one is ready to be put to work on an engine or put into your inventory for a spare. The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. Here is a set of cast iron parts that will take a lot of the work and all of the welding out of making a wheelbarrow style cart for your engine. Included are one pair of bolsters with axle mounting hardware, two 8″x2″ five spoke wheels and two handle/support legs. Bolsters are 3 tall and will allow you to make a nice heavy duty cart for engines up to 275 pounds. The only parts needed to complete the cart are common 3/4 pipe for the axle, engine mounting rails, nuts and bolts. Cast iron will give an antique look many prefer over fabricated strap steel and help your engine really stand out at the next show.
