Model Star Hit and Miss Gasoline Engine Casting Kit. This Kit includes, Cad Drawn Plans, a DVD containing assembly and operational instructions, serialized Brass Name Plate, A complete set of springs (3) igniter, (1) intake valve, (1) exhaust valve, (1) fuel pump, and (2) governor, (8) total. (1) set of three gears Crank and cam Gears, governor and governor pinion gear all cut and ready to assemble. Castings include the Cylinder, Base Casting, Bearing caps, and two Flywheels. The Flywheels are 10″ diameter as cast, they finish machine to 9-5/8″. These can be supplied completely machined if your lathe is too small to handle this size. 360 Brass Material is Provided for the Carburetor, fuel pump, Fuel Pump Check Valve, and the connecting rod throw bearing. Paul Breisch “Olds” Hit and Miss Engine Casting Kit with Blueprints. My father bought this Paul Breisch engine casting kit back in the 80′s. It’s been in a box ever since. It appears to have a complete set of blueprints, except print E-25 is half of a sheet. It also appears that all of the original castings are there. Main Casting – Iron. Cylinder Head Casting – Iron. Connecting Rod Casting – Brass. Bearing Caps Casting – Iron. Mixing Valve Casting – Brass. Rocker Arm Casting – Brass. 2 Timing Gears – Machined. 1 needle Valve – Machined. Unidentified Pin – Brass. Engine Data Plate – Brass. E-12 Dated 1/16/74 “Making a One-Piece Crankshaft”. E-31 Dated 5/24/76 “Block – Machining Drawing”. E3-5 Dated 7/16/66 “Mixing Valve”. If you are looking at this, you know what it is, and you know this kit requires machining skills to complete… Like turning a crankshaft. All the other components to make this engine functional are to be machined, and or fabricated by the builder. You will also need material to machine other components such as the crankshaft, piston, rings, etc. All that is included is what is pictured… I’ve done my best to describe this item. Feel free to message me with any questions. I’ll do my best to answer them promptly. Has any machining been done to the kit? – Answer: My father did not machine anything on this kit. The kit is as it was received from Paul Breisch. The factory performed a rough turning of the mating face of the cylinder head. What about a crankshaft? – Answer: Blueprint E3-2 calls for using 4140 steel which was not included with the kit. I don’t see the bearing caps Answer: The (2) bearing caps are cast together, and have a cast line indicating where to cut them apart. They are pictured just below the crank end of the main casting (bottom left), and to the right of the flywheels. Here is a casting kit for an Associated hit and miss gas engine. What you see is what you get. I think it is all there but I cannot guarantee it. Take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. The flywheels will be about 6 in diameter when machined. The pieces are made of cast iron. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back.
