This is an extremely nice original and rather hard to find Chandler piston type water pump that was commonly used on steam traction engine water tender wagons to transfer the water from the wagon to the boiler. It was made by Chandler Pump Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has the name in raised letters on the side of the body. It is in outstanding condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The pump measures about 18 inches long, 18 inches tall on the board, and about 44 inches to the top of the handle. The handle moves as it should with seemingly little wear. It may need new leather cups on the piston but it might even pump water the way it is! Leather cups are available rather inexpensively if it does need them. It seems to be mounted on its original board as it too has some original paint on it. The original brass bleeder plugs are in it as can be seen. This one of the nicest transfer pumps that I’ve ever come across as most of them are pretty beat up from years of use. The pictures tell the story.
