Here is an original steel connecting rod for a 1hp IHC Famous or Titan or Tom Thumb engine. This is a very hard to find part because many of these rods were brass and all worn out. This one is missing one rod cap nuts but other than that it seems to be ready to use. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. 7/8 wrist pin hole. About 1-1/8 crank pin hole, its adjustable with shims. About 8-1/2 center to center. About 10-1/4 in overall length not counting the rod bolts. Very hard to find! Thanks for looking at this listing! This is an original connecting rod for an Associated or United hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It may fit several models or sizes so please do your homework to be sure it fits your application. It has a part number of ABV and is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except it could used a new wrist pin bushing. It measures about 11 1/2 inches from journal center to journal center. It measures about 1 3/8 inch wide at the crankshaft end (without the bearing) and the wrist pin bushing is 1 3/8 inches wide. It measures about 13 9/16 inches long overall and includes the rod bearing and cap which looks to be in good shape. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. Nice vintage hit & miss engine piston and rod. Estate find of a large hit & miss collection so I do not know which engine it is correct for so consider pictures and measurements to determine if it is right for you. Connecting rod – ABY. Piston is 4 in diameter. Message from a collector (not confirmed by me but maybe helpful). The connecting rod fits both 1 3/4 HP and 2 1/4 HP Associated gas engines, in both the water cooled version and the air cooled version. If the piston has the letters ABW on it, then this combo is for a 1 3/4 HP engine. If the piston has the letters AKY, then the combo is for a 2 1/4 HP engine. I’m not certain, but I think the 1 3/4 HP would use a 3 3/4″ diameter piston and the 2 1/4 HP would use a 4″ diameter piston.

It is in pretty good shape. The rod bearing has a small crack but I would use it as it is without question. For questions 419 789 1159. Part No is hard to read. Wrist pin is 3/4 hole diameter. Meant for a 1-1/4″ crankshaft, the bearing is about 1-1/2″ wide. It is about 11-1/2 from center hole to center hole. About 13-1/2 overall not counting grease cups or bolts.
