Here is an original crankcase side cover plate for a Fairbanks Morse T and or Jack of All Traded Vertical engine. This came off of a 2hp engine but will probably fit other sizes. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. For a FM T vertical engine. About 6-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ It is about 5/8 thick. The mounting pattern is about 5-3/4″ x 4″. For questions 419 789 1159. This is an original cast iron crankcase or block for a 1hp Fairbanks Morse Jack Jr gas engine. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It even has a small amount of original paint on it. This sub base should be ready to be used under an engine. The pictures tell the story. These original unbroken, unrepaired crankcases are quite tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would be a great replacement for yours with a broken or repaired mounting foot. This is an original crankcase breather for a marine 2-cycle or other two cycle hit and miss type gas engine. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It mounts with two holes 2 3/4 inches apart on center. It has a 1 npt nipple threaded into it Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. It has the original valve and spring in it and it moves as it should. The hex on the cap is a bit chewed up as can be seen. This breather is ready to be used on an engine or put in your inventory as a spare. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. From what I can gather, this is some type of steam engine model. I know nothing about them. I bought it with the intention of finishing/getting it running at some point. I have no idea of the origin of the open crankcase design cast iron block. It has what I think is B C Co. Utica, NY” on one side of the block, and “No. 10 on the other. A friend of mine told me that it might originally be a block from a very old compressor. It has a cast iron crankshaft, a steel piston with 3 rings, and a bronze connecting rod. The bore is 1 1/2″ and the stroke is about 2 1/2″. The cylinder extension or chamber appears to be bronze, and the head appears to be brass. It has a couple of 1/8 pipe thread fittings for copper tubing installed. It has brass oilers on the bearings and the main oiler that lubes the cylinder and piston is a Lunkenheimer type but has no name on it. The engine itself is about 11″ long and about 6 1/2″ wide. It is about 10 tall including the wooden stand and oiler. I didn’t weigh it, but it’s fairly heavy for it’s size. I don’t know for sure how these things work, but I think it needs some more plumbing/porting/modification to operate as a live steam engine. It rotates smoothly as it should and has compression. I have no idea where the previous owner/builder was going with this. I haven’t done anything to it besides clean and lube it. It’s just a really cool, attractive piece that would even function well just sitting on display and having the flywheel spun every once in a while.
