This is an original cast iron crankguard or fender for a Witte hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for some small rust holes in the round door which should be easy to repair if you so choose. It mounts with two holes 6 1/8 inches apart on center. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These cast iron crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they’re so often missing so if you need one here’s your chance! The pictures tell the story. This is a very hard to find original crankguard for a 3hp Fuller Johnson N or K hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It has one small dent that could easily be removed. It measures about 5 x 15 1/4 inches and mounts with the arms on the main bearing studs while the bottom sits on the edge of the crankcase. It’s ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it would surely be easier than making one! Let the pictures be your guide. You won’t be disappointed in any way. The ear on the mounting bracket has a small chip on one side. In my opinion, this will not affect the ability to mount the guard to the engine, just wanted to point it out. In my opinion, this will not affect the ability to mount the guard. The lip in side the base has been broken off. A small corner remains and should still hold the guard in place.
