Very nice John Deere hit n miss engine looking for a new home. I have up for sale a very nice good running model E hit n miss engine. This engine has been very well cared for. It has a good hot magneto with good spark at the points. Points are in good shape. Brass tag on side governor cove has a serial # 328475 making it 84 years old and built in 1934. Their is no cracks, breaks or welds any where on the engine except a small weld on the rocker pivot arm. The plug on the water tank is free and not rusted in like some are. Here is a list of things I have done to the engine. I have just replaced the igniter gasket, head gasket, magneto gasket, governor gasket and crank case gasket. I also installed a new gas tank. Installed a new stainless steel oil pan too. I try to tell you everything about the engine that I possibly can but please ask questions if you have any. I had the cart powder coat painted at a factory so it should last a long time. The front axle is a original with the # E42R and the 2 front wheels have the #E44R. 1 of the wheels has a chip out of it but is still in good shape. The rear axle has been replaced at some time and is not original but still a nice axle as are the wheels. Engine does have some oil blow by around the main bearings but most of these old motors do and did right out of the factory. I may be able to meet you part way when you come to get it. 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp Hit & Miss Engine Antique 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp. Hit and miss engine on Waterloo cart. Twenty years ago the previous owner had it bored and sleeved, with new rings, and crank. Two wheels on the cart have old repairs and all the wheels are a bit wobbly with age but cart pulls nice and is solid. I would guess that the head has an old repair, lower left side, but not sure on that either, starts easy and runs great, (sure on that) crank guard is a reproduction. I can help with loading on this end. I can store it out of the weather for a few months once paid in full, if needed. PS: the old boy is running in some of the pictures. Up for sale is a completely rebuilt engine with just the green skid that its on, not the wood cart. I bought this engine from the original owners wife. She said he bought this new in 1938!!!! I had my friend Who has been a well known machinist in the area for 40 years help me with this engine. Nothing on this engine is welded, bent or covered up with paint I dont work that way. The flywheels turn true they do not wobble like most. Magneto has new housing and is hot with bright blue spark, magnet was charged, igniter rebuilt, new piston, new rings, new gas tank, new stainless steel oil pan, New main bearings, Includes crankcase vent. This motor is very easy to start and doesnt skip a beat! Unlike most listings this motor was completely rebuilt not repainted! This was all done a year ago. There is a Nice black metal cart that goes with this engine. I have my three horse power on the cart temporarily, that motor is not included!! Thank you for your interest in my motor. Antique John Deere E 1-1/2 HP engine on trucks. SN 344625 – made in 1937. Restored to good running condition a few years ago – it has been run a few times since then and has been in my kitchen for the past few years. Now it is time to let it go to a new owner. There is no pull-handle on the cart but one can be added pretty easily. No issues with this one – it’s ready to go. If you have questions about something, feel free to call me – I don’t text so don’t expect a response from a text. Your Fastenal Store will need to have a fork lift. Good communication is key – so if you have questions, please feel free to ask. Don’t miss your chance to add this piece from the days of old to your collection! Also put video of the rebuild on you tube This engine was completely taken apart and Cleaned using Electrolysis I DO NOT SAND Blast / BEAD Blast Antique engine parts. I painted it original John Deere green paint. It is not uncommon for these engine to have repairs , this one has a repair to the rocker arm and crank case cover Does affect it running. (see video on you tube) my channel name is Ligebellbuckletn As you can see this engine is complete and not missing anything but a magneto No worries I have included a battery and low tension coil for the ignition. I also honed Cylinder before installed new rings. After putting it all back together I run a tank of fuel through it and it runs good.. So I know it will run great for you also.
