This is an extremely hard to find and very nice original belt-driven Schaeffer and Budenberg tachometer for a steam engine, gas engine, generator, dynamo, or other early piece of machinery. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It turns as it should with no unknown noises and was used by a previous owner on a small steam engine. It doesn’t have a recent calibration but I’d bet it is pretty accurate as it seems to have great care given to it! It has 6 inch diameter face and overall it is about 10 inches long and about 8 inches tall. The gauge itself rotates on a pin with a set screw to adjust it for ease of viewing. It has a nickel plated oil cup on it which I believe to be original. It mounts with three holes on a 6 3/4 inch diameter cast iron base. I believe this tachometer is ready to be used or put in your early mechanical device display or collection. These old tachometers are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one.
