Here is one of the nicest magneto/igniter setups I’ve ever offered for sale! This is a K26 bracket for a Hercules built (Economy) gas engine. The magneto is a very nice three bar Webster. The whole setup is in very good condition. It needs a new wire from the mag to the igniter, but I hooked up the wire to the igniter and gave it a flip with a screwdriver – on the first try I got a spark. So with a little freshening up you should have a beautiful original mag for your engine. There are many of these setups missing – there are a few available – but there are very few around in this type of condition. Please check out my other engine parts auctions. This is a very hard to find original Elkhart rotary low tension magneto for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. This is the largest Elkhart magneto that I can remember ever seeing with 4 magnets on it. These were used on Sparta Economy, Falk, and several other engines. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It turns nicely with good magnetic pull and puts out a hot, blue spark. It mounts on a 2 x 3 1/8 inch rectangular bolt pattern and the threads seem to be in good shape. It doesn’t appear to have been abused as you can see. It has very little noticeable wear in the bearings. These Elkhart magnetos are increasingly tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. Let the pictures be your guide. You’ll like it. I dis-ambled the motor bought new rings, lapped the valves, bought a reconditioned Wico Mag, new spark plug. Gas tank was rusted replaced with a reproduction tank, new head gasket, you can see some kind of patch on the side of the block, when I bought the engine the paint was flaking off in that spot. I ground the paint away as you can see some sort of plug was inserted in the block it a cool fix and does not leak a drop of water. I would love to learn this technique. I’ve owned this engine for 3 years I’ve used it to start many other motors it will run hours. I made the skid it’s attached out of Maple. Hercules made engines for Economy as you can see the decal says Economy no tag was on the motor. The back of the block was drilled and tapped for the crank guard cover. I found this guard to my surprised it fit. To my knowledge Economy did not have the block drilled and tapped for this type of guard. I’m not one hundred percent sure it’s and Economy engine. I will attach to a skid and drop it off at our local Fastenal for 100 dollars. The motor can remain here for 6 months provided it paid in full. Hard to find original cast iron Edgemont machine clutch Pulley for I think an Economy or Hercules antique stationary gas motor. Pulley is the small number 1 size and is about a 7 inch Pulley. Clutch is loose and looks in very nice condition and would look great on an original engine. No cracks breaks or welds. Please review pictures for size and condition. May fit other engines as well. Almost impossible to find these small clutch pulleys for smaller size engines. Up for sale is a Economy 5 HP hit and miss engine that was apart of my dad’s estate. I have not found any cracks or welds on it. My dad put a heater motor on it for a ignition source, the battery has probably gone bad, it does not have the original magneto to go with it, I believe it would take a low tension magneto. I have had this engine running only one time , but it had a tendency to run away- I believe I done something wrong when I start & ran it to cause that. Looks to be complete except for magneto and maybe bracket- not sure how the magneto mounts, Good compression, Real nice hit & miss engine on cart.
