This is a pretty nice older restoration 4 1/2hp United Type A hit and miss gas engine. It is a very early engine (serial 400124). It was restored back in the 1970′s and seems to have most of the original paint underneath. It is in excellent mechanical condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It has good compression even after sitting for a few decades. There is very little wear on the engine as the gears are nice and square and bearings all seem to be tight. The flywheels run true. It has the correct early style head and mixer on it along with the original muffler. The gas tank is homemade and has a pinhole in it but should be an easy repair or replacement. It is on a factory subbase which is quite uncommon. It is on a large wheeled (2 1/2 inch face wheels) Electric Wheel cart which I believe is correct for it. It was also used under many other manufacturers engines. It has the original handle and rolls nicely. I haven’t run the engine but It should only take some fresh gas and a battery to make it run. I can deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can also be picked up here. The pictures tell the story. The bigger United engines don’t come along that often so don’t miss it. This sign looks GREAT! It is super scarce and I have never seen another one is 30 years in the biz. It has nice vibrant color and graphics–you gotta love the BIG LIGHT BULB in the center of the sign. It measures 20″ long by 13 1/2″ tall. The sign belonged to I. ROSENBERGER SILVER DALE PENN. The sign is in excellent condition with very minor wear and a few tiny holes from hanging. Here is a very neat old 11.5KW 125 Volt Dynamo. According to the tag it is a Willey Electric Dynamo made by the Jas Clark Jr. & Co of Louisville KY. It seems to be in great shape. I hooked up a deep cycle 12 volt battery to it and it started spinning. I have no idea if it is ready to make power but I think it is. I think it would look great belted up to an old hit and miss engine. The end of one of the mounting slides has a crack in it. If I were going to fix it I would just drill a hole though the side and clamp it together with an old nut and bolt. That would be a repair just like they would have done 100 years ago. Here is a link I found with a little information on it. According to that link it appears this one is a Size 3 and weighs 1150 lbs. Take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. 125 Volts 11.5KW 92 Amps Speed 1175. It is about 28 tall to the top of the case. The pulley face it 6-3/4″ in diameter and 5-1/2″ wide. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. For example if my measurements are wrong I would take it back. So here it is. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This is a very large size model solenoid engine. It is very intricate and very well machined. The photos show the great detail that went into the building of this engine. I have no way to test it but everything fits precisely and turns very, very smoothly. I’ll leave it up to a model engine collector to figure out what the power source should be. Engine measures 9 1/2″ overall, 4 3/4″ wide, and 4 1/2 tall. The flywheels are 4 in diameter. (Cola can is not included). We first discovered the ATOMOTOR 9 years ago and have been collecting them ever since. Motor’s original design placed it on top of a plastic D Cell battery box, where the. 4 metal clips underneath base would make contact and run very nicely. During the past 65+ years, boxes tended to warp outwards due to battery pressures, making electrical contact sometimes iffy.. Plus, it was difficult to power Steam Engine machine shop tools and other Fun Toys with motor so high up and not on ground level. The Good News is ATOMOTOR can be powered two different ways… Using the box or simply attaching a pair of. Battery wires directly to Motor’s base underneath… By-passing box altogether as with our Custom Built Power Plant here.
