I believe this to be a cast iron and original Crank Guard for a 4HP Fairbanks Morse H engine! Please do some measuring and comparing on your engine before purchasing to save us both the time and headache!!! The mounting hole spacing looks to be 8 on centers. As you can see in the pictures the mounting holes have a “chunk” missing from each side. I think with some time this could be fixed up or just put larger washers on when installing. Please see all pictures for the absolute best description.

Rare Single Fly Ball Governor for a Hit Miss Steam Engine Cast Iron Patent 1900
rare

This is a rare single fly ball governor for a hit and miss steam engine. It is made of cast iron and all parts move smoothly. Would need a cleaning and lubrication. There is a vague patent date on the brass ring around the ball. It appears to read Pat. Can’t find a makers mark. It does have the original belt pully wheel. This is 23 inches long and 21 inches tall. It has brass valves.

1-1/2HP, 3HP or 6HP IHC M Hit Miss Gas Engine. Mounts 2 9/16 center to center. The moveable electrode is good. Nice original cast iron. There is a chip along the top above the electrode – SEE PHOTOS – will not affect the use. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to call me with questions. My parts inventory has grown out of control, so set a reminder to check back frequently for new listings! If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I just haven’t gotten around to it yet, so just check with me. Like I said, I have been doing this a long time and try to list everything accurately and to provide a detailed explanation of the item, both good and the bad. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper, I won’t take it back. For example, if my measurements are wrong I would take it back. Most of my parts are listed “AS IS” and are in unknown working condition, unless otherwise stated. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This vintage Maytag gas engine twin cylinder 72D is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts of stationary engines. The engine type is hit & miss, and the model is Maytag 92M. It is perfect for those who are interested in the history of stationary engines or for those who would like to restore their vintage Maytag engine. The engine is suitable for use with various pieces of equipment and tools, making it a versatile item for collectors. It is categorized under parts, stationary engines, light equipment & tools, and business & industrial. This engine is a must-have for anyone who wants to add a piece of history to their collection. A nice looking engine that I picked up at a local estate in Kansas. It spins over nice and snaps back. Compression seems like it should be by pressing on the kickstart. One of the heads have some fins busted off on the underneath side. I included a spare jug, if one wants to replace it?? I sell mostly used or vintage items. I’m not expert on many things and cannot describe every detail, so look closely at pictures.

VERTICAL SIMPLICITY Hit Miss Gas Engine IGNITOR Steam Tractor Oiler Magneto WOW
vertical
Comments Off
This is an extremely hard to find ignitor for a vertical Simplicity hit and miss gas engine made by Western Malleable and Grey Iron Manufacturing Company. It is a brand new faithful reproduction. It has a cast iron body and mounts with two 7/16 inch holes 2 1/2 inches apart on center. The barrel that goes into the cylinder is about 1 1/2 diameter and 2 5/16 long to the maximum length of the movable shaft. This ignitor should fit most of the 2 1/2 and 4 1/2hp vertical engines except the very earliest engines but please measure your engine or consult your parts book to be sure. Everything moves and functions as it should as it is 100% brand new and it is ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! Let the pictures be your guide. You won’t be disappointed in any way. The last picture is of an original ignitor arranged in a 4 1/2hp engine for orientation reference.
