Some are marked lunkenheimer, Essex Nathan, Kanter, Allen, American injector, Gibb, longergans, some are unmarked. Some have tooling marks on them from wrenches and pliers. All have patina on them and are as I found them. Didnt see any cracked glass. Nice huge lot of oilers. Comes as seen in the photos. Essex 2 size pipe fitting brass fuel generator, or mixer. Technically not a carburetor. Not an easy find! Used on flywheel and marine engines. I dont know what all brands used them. Essex Hot Air Engine. This is a great early hot air engine. This engine is in excellent mechanical condition it is complete with no damaged or missing parts. The moving parts of this engine seem to have very little wear and it turns over very smoothly. I have never tried running the engine but based on experience with other antique hot air engines I have no doubt that it would start and run nicely if hooked up to a proper fuel source. This engine is just about as nice of an untouched original Essex as you are likely to find. The engine has never been cleaned in any way and retains a great deal of its original silver paint. One of the coolest features of this engine the original period wood base nicely carved with the words Hot Air Engine, and name Hilbert Doepp Dec 25 1908. This engine is set up to run on natural gas and has part of the original plumbing including a fancy brass gas valve still attached. One the top side of the engine there is the name Essex and the patent date of March 24 1903. These engines were designed to run a wide variety of small equipment. This is a VERY hard to find original brass oiler for a hit and miss gas or marine engine. This style was originally used on some larger engines where there were many points of lubrication. It could be used wherever it’s special configuration warrants. It is a 10-feed oiler and appears to be 100% complete. All of the glasses seem to be in good shape and everything seems to work as it should. It is about 10 inches long overall and is about 9 inches tall overall. The reservoir is about 3 1/2 x 4 inches. It needs some cleaning and possibly some new gaskets but that’s the fun part. After that it should be ready to go to work on an engine with no extra attention! It has all of the originla lower fittings to hook up the copper lines. It also has the original filler lid. It has a cast brass mounting bracket with the original nut on the back and has a great original patina and look to it and would look great on an original engine. These oilers are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets. It would even make a great spare on the shelf. The pictures tell the story. You won’t be disappointed in any way!
