Original 2hp Fairbanks Morse Dishpan Z. This is a throttle governed engine. It still has some decent original paint on it. It has the original flat belt pulley on it. The valves move as they should and it turns over nicely with some wear in the bearings but there should be shims to be taken out yet. The cast iron governor bracket is off of it because the small gear is stuck. I’m sure with a little heat it would free up. The engine has the original mixer on it. It has an old braze repair on the head as can be seen. There are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It should be a pretty straightforward restoration. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, in 2019. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is a real nice original belt driven generator that would be a great display running with your hit and miss gas engine! I believe it was made by Fairbanks Morse and is 32V DC but I have no way to tell other than it was with a Fairbanks Morse engine that matched it at the sale where I bought it. If you can educate me please do! The 3 wires have the original aluminum wrap labels on them but I don’t know what they mean. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It turns over nicely with no noticeable bearing wear. The brushes and all of the internals look to be in good shape and there is very little noticeable wear on the armature. I believe it is ready to be used again. It measures about 11 inches in diameter so it is a nice, manageable size. It has a v-belt pulley on it but this could easily be removed to put on a flat belt pulley. I can deliver this for free (or a cold beverage) to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is an original Fairbanks Morse Type R high tension magneto for an old engine. It was factory equipment on many of the Model Z engines that were spark plug fired. The bearings have almost no noticeable wear and it turns over very smoothly with good magnetic pull. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It puts out a good, hot, blue spark that will surely run an engine if it is set up properly with the addition of the correct gear for your application. It mounts with two holes 3 7/8 inches apart on center. These original Fairbanks Morse R magnetos are getting tougher to find every day so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. Throttle governor for hit miss engine. Governor is in good condition and ready to use. 1 1/2 hp Fairbanks Morse Z. Bracket has #’s ZAN37A & ZAA37A On it….. Cam Gear Is Part# ZAA28C On It. Cam gear is 5 1/8 and 48 teeth. Angles teeth on the cam gear. Everything works as it should on the governor. Comes with the linkage that runs up to the carb. It is in original condition so you will probably want to cleans it up or leave as is on a dirty engine. CAST IRON unlike the zinc ones that normally break. No breaks, crack, or welds. Offered for your consideration is an antique Fairbanks Morse Z model 1 1/2 horsepower hit and miss stationary engine. It turns smoothly and has compression. It has been stored in a farm workshop out of the elements. I researched the engine and found that Fairbanks Morse did make a 1 1/2 hp Bosch magneto sparkplug model. That is all the information that I could find. I have a very small amount of knowledge on these engines so please ask any questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I gave the engine a light cleaning however, I did not clean out the fuel tank. The pictures show the condition better than I can describe.
