Sandwich Hit Miss Flywheel Farm Gas Engine –NO RESERVE. Here is an old Sandwich Flywheel Engine. I have included many photos to show its barn fresh original condition. It has good compression. It is missing the gas tank. It will not run on the mag. We hooked a coil and battery to the ignitor. We squirted starting fluid in the carb and cranked it over. It fired right off. We ran it a few seconds by swirting fluid in the carb. The governor latched out at a pretty high RPM. As can be seen in the photos a couple of the teeth are missing on the gears. Which does not affect its running. Flywheels run true with no wobble or runout. With a little TLC it will make a nice original condition. I beleive it is about 1 1/2 – 2 hp. I have too many engines that I have been tripping over and. Cluttering the barn that need to go. Keep checking my other auctions for no reserve barn fresh engines. Little 1 1/2HP Nelson brothers hit miss engine I believe. Engine has some original paint and pin stripes left! Engine has one weld that I can find which is on the feed tube that attaches to carburetor, it looks like a old repair! Engine has one break that I can see which is on one of the governor weights, the ear is broken off that rides in the governor collar. Piston and bore looks to be in good condition and turns over freely! There’s a small hole drilled through the cam gear, i think someone had plans of installing spark plug ignition at one time. Comes with a reproduction brass rocker arm that still needs machined. Bearings still have plenty of life left in them! Engine is missing the mag, gas tank, speed lever, and misc bolts and springs I’m sure! Engine should make a great project it’s small and easy to move!! Parts for these Nelson brothers are easy to find it seems like. Still lots of grease and original paint! Please ask questions if you have any! I can bolt this to a pallet and drop off at my local Fastenal for no extra charge! My Fastenal is located in Mt Pleasant Iowa 52641. I have what I think is a early or hand made Hit And Miss Engine cart. I looked for a company Name plate Or don’t know if this is handmade. This cart has a large pulley with a Ohio Reducing gear and a steel knuckle and the gears and pulley works. This is great piece of history and don’t know if this is John Deere or International Harvester or some other brand. Where the engine stands is Green and Red on the long Angle Iron. The sizes/Measurements are: The total length is almost 50 inches long. The front metal Axle is 19″ long From the knuckle to the pulley is 14″ long The big pulley is 12 7/8″ big Small gear is 10″ long and it is a cast iron Ohio Gear with part number IS 12120 The knuckle shaft is 13 long. I have tried to find anything close to this on the net but can’t find anything close. The gears turn like it was new and clean. In the front there was 2 eyelids that was used for pulling but one is broken. They don’t give me much of a option? This is a VERY hard to find original John Deere 200 full line General Catalog. It is fresh from the estate of an old John Deere dealer and measures about 9 x 11 inches with hundreds of pages. It shows the full line of tractors and farm equipment including the Type E engine and W power units. It is in good used condition with some wear and soiling. It was damp at some point but the pages are all free with no noticeable damage and all of the information is in good, usable condition. It has the authentic old smell to it and is ready to be added to your John Deere library or display. It is a wealth of information for the John Deere collector! These original full line catalogs don’t turn up very often as so many of them lost their battle with the wood stove back in the day so don’t miss your chance on this one. The pictures tell the story.
