Rare 1/2 npt two weight flyball governor. Please note one of the gears is worn from misalignment , somehow. It will work fine as is, I think. Although I had thought about building the teeth up with braze and re-cutting the teeth. But, I found a different model that I’m going to use so, someone else can have this one. I looked a long time for this governor, it’s really quite nice and complete with the pulleys. It looks to have been repainted black at some point. Here is a nice, original IHC clutch pulley for your M, Mogul or Famous , etc engine. This will bolt onto the 6 hp “M”, ergo the 10 hp “M” as well. It will fit the 4 and 6 hp Mogul and some others I believe. It is 16″ diameter with a 6 1/2″ belt face. Centres are 15 1/2 apart. The part # on the handle is H791; I didn’t write any others down if needed. It weighs about 135 lbs! Good overall shape, not broken or welded. It locks and releases when I tried it on the ground; everything moves. It has the rare cross-drilled look to it to help it cool down when you’re grinding feed super fast :o. Okay, it has holes in it…. Which is not uncommon up here. Probably had wood slats bolted to it at one time, or belting. It is what it is. It is for sale so if you want it, make an offer. I can get this a ride to Portland, Indiana next week so keep that in mind. Here is a nice, desirable Type 1 Massey-Harris 2 hp hit & miss engine. With serial number N328 , it dates to approx early 1917; the number on the tag matches the end of the crank. This engine sat as a display in a local museum. When someone decided they wanted to “borrow” some parts off it, the previous owner removed it. It shows nice but still needs some work. It wasn’t running when I got it. The first fire, it ran like a bag of hammers falling down aluminum stairs; it’s a little better now. It will need rings no doubt. The cast in base gas tank is awesome and fuel flows fine. The crankguard has broken /missing cast on one bolt corner. I will include an aluminum reproduction for you to fit later. The muffler looks good but is shop built. Flywheels run true and it’s in really good shape overall with no breaks or welds that I can see, except mentioned. It is for sale, make an offer if you want it…. Opinions don’t pay the bills. I can keep the engine here for quite a while until you can make arrangements to pick it up. I can probably meet you in Buffalo, NY as well if you can meet there. I don’t currently have a ride for it to Portland unless you know someone but :o. The engine is in really nice shape mechanically, starts easy on the magneto and will run all day long. I have only owned the engine about a week, and I have ran it probably no less than 15 hours. Runs so good I just let it run all day. There are no cracks, breaks or welds anywhere on this engine that I have been able to find. Fuel pump looks and works like new, this engine never has trouble keeping the gas level right up there in the carb. NO gas or water leaks anywhere. No knocks, clunks, or bad noises with this engine. Governor works perfectly, if you put a load on it, she’ll snap right to it. Original nameplate and original muffler. Pulley isn’t correct but works just as good. Original crankcase breather, and original key guard. No starting crank, but I start it just by spinning the flywheels by hand. Great working original ignitor. There really isn’t anything on this engine you can knock, it’s a real good example of a 1hp Mogul. Whoever ends up with will be quite happy. Ready for the shows. Here is a very nice little 2hp Alamo made by the Alamo Mfg Co. Serial number 32089 which would be around 1916. This is a very tight engine that has seen minimal use, has no broken or repaired parts and the water jacket was never frozen and cracked. It starts easy and runs very well. Has what looks to be the original cylinder oiler and grease cups. The skid it is on is not the best but it is oak and does the job. This is a true open crank hit and miss engine with make and break ignition. It uses a battery and low tension coil for ignition not included in this sale. This particular engine has some interesting history from the previous owner. In the fall of 1946 a recently discharge navy veteran named Mike Carlisle was working odd jobs in the city or Worcester Massachusetts. He was clearing out an old warehouse and this engine was in there. Mike arranged to take the engine back to his home in Sutton MA. He used it sporadically on his property mostly for pumping water. In the early 60′s he saw a few engines painted up pretty at a fair and proceeded to “pretty” up his Alamo. I know current collectors cringe at the thought but that is what was done back then. Unfortunately the tag was removed and lost. Given the engine was found in MA it may have had a Lunt Moss tag as they were an Alamo dealer out of Boston. Mike never ran the engine after he painted it. I installed the replacement gas tank that came with it and got the engine going. I’ve never take it to a show but did have it running often at home. This would make a great first engine for someone as it does not need any work or have any questionable repairs – qualities that are getting hard to find on these engine today. Fresh paint and a nice cart would really set this engine off and make for a nice display. I can also deliver to any show I attend here in NC.
