This is a really nice home built air cooled flywheel engine model. It was built a few years ago by great machinist and his skills are quite evident in its craftsmanship! I believe it started out as a Nelson Brothers engine and several modifications were made. It has a counter balanced crankshaft and a spark timer setup on it. It has 9 inch flywheels so it is a pretty good sized model. It has excellent compression and shouldn’t take much to make noise as it was a running engine not very long ago. The oiler stem needs repair and it needs a throttle linkage from the rod to the carburetor as it was lost somewhere along the way but this should be a pretty straightforward piece to make. No other cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is presented nicely on skids with a gas tank and includes the starting crank for it. It is a very unique engine that is sure to turn heads at the shows! This would be a fine addition to your early air cooled engine collection! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. Unrestored 7 HP Nelson Brothers stationary flywheel gas engine. Mounted on iron frame and wheels. Other than missing name plate, it appears complete. Turns over and gets compression. The original Wico magneto needs its magnets recharged, at least so from what I was reading about them the magnets pull freely from the coils. The cooling jacket on the underside of the cylinder has a crack, probably a freeze fracture see attached photo. From the appearance of the cylinder bore and piston (both oily and not rusted), it would seem unlikely that the cylinder wall is cracked also. While turning it over I noticed that a tooth on one of the gears is chipped see attached photo. It doesn’t seem to prevent proper mesh of the gears. The belt pulley has rust holes see attached photo. The prefixes on the embossed part numbers are “F” and “FA”. The engine base, cylinder, cooling hopper and moving parts don’t show extensive rust pitting and should clean up nicely. The rims of the flywheels do show some pitting, not the sides or spokes, but the rims. Looks like the engine will need a new gas tank also. Scarce 2-Cylinder,, 2-flywheel, vertical Sieverkropp engine built in Racine, WI, around 1911. It is on the rare factory sub base as can be seen. It has an older restoration and seems to be in good shape. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than some braze on the water jacket by the ports. It turns over with good compression and was a running engine not long ago. It has the correct carburetor on it. It is missing the muffler but a fella reproduced some of these a few years back. It would be a great addition to your smaller engine collection! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. Up for sale is this 1932 Maytag hit and miss model 31 engine only. I believe it would be an older restoration but could be original. It has good compression. I cleaned it up a little bit , otherwise it is as I found it. It is in really good shape. It is not perfect please see pictures for condition details. Paint has some flaking and is still needs cleaned up a bit better. This motor is a great candidate for a full restoration or would display as is quite nicely. This is a Cushman X model 21 open crankcase throttle governed flywheel engine; predecessor to the Cushman Cub. It has an uncommon Wico EK mag setup; no battery needed. All parts are loose but poor compression. Mostly leaks out exhaust dirt/carbon? ; intake valve/cage in good shape; piston and rings very worn; one ring gone missing; bearings loose but rough. It has a nice brass tag and carb with good needle valve and damper. This item is offered as is, as shown with no guaranties.
