Up for sale is very first Maytag fruit jar engine that I have ever seen or owned in my life. I don’t know nothing about this engine it does have a older restoration on it and looks to be with spray can paint. I was able to get it to run. I have been told there is a lot of reproduction engine’s around but I would have no clue on what to look for anyways. I found this one and of course I had to own it. Does have end play on the flywheel so I would say it would need new bearings but I didn’t hear it when it ran. Guys can contact me with questions and I will try my best to answer them the best I can. If it is a repop, there are very few of them showing up now days, who ever was doing that got his Hind End lit up by the maytag company, so it is a great collectible too, as “No More” are being made. In order to reproduce them they Cannibalized some Expensive Engines, a Upright and a 82, plus all the machine work. In any case it looks great at the shows. I have never ran it so it is sticky. This is an original Maytag Fruit Jar engine which was made to run a model 72 Maytag washing machine in the early 1920′s. I have run it some and it runs very well and starts great after it has been run. The belt pulley is a reproduction. The pictures are good for 1000 words.
