I HAVE FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AN EXTREMELY RARE ROTARY MAGNETO SETUP THAT WAS FACTORY ON THE GALLOWAY LINE OF ENGINES. THIS WAS REMOVED FROM A 5HP TRANSITION STYLE GALLOWAY. THE BRACKET BOLTS TO THE NON-WORKING SIDE OF THE ENGINE AND THE LEATHER DISC OR WHEEL RUBS ON THE FLYWHEEL OF THE ENGINE TO CREATE SPARK. THE AUTO SPARKER OR GENERATOR ITSELF IS ALSO MANUFACTURED AND TAGGED THE WILLIAM GALLOWAY CO. I CANNOT SAY THAT I HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING IN LIFE, BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER SET-UP LIKE THIS BEFORE. THE GENERATOR ITSELF HAS GOOD SPARK WHEN SPINNING, THE WOODEN ROUND COIL THAT IS MOUNTED INSIDE OF THE MAGNET OF THE GENERATOR DOES NOT CONDUCT THE SPARK AND SEND IT TO THE ENGINE. THERE MUST BE WIRE BREAK INSIDE OF THE LITTLE COIL. I WOULD ASSUME THAT YOU CAN GET A COMMON COMET OR WIZZARD GENERATOR AND TAKE THE COIL FROM THAT AND SWAP. THERE IS ALSO A REPAIR TO ONE OF THE MOUNTING HOLES ON THE CAST BRACKET. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED WITH A NICKLE ROD AND IS NOT EVEN VISIBLE, BUT THAT IS NOT HOW I CONDUCT MY BUSINESS, SO WE ARE MAKING EVERYONE AWARE OF IT. THIS IS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO GET A VERY RARE PIECE FOR YOUR GALLOWAY ENGINE. WE WILL TRY OUR BEST TO GIVE YOU AN ACCURATE AND HONEST DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEMS LISTING THE GOODS AND THE BAD’S. Shelly’s engine, cast iron, has very nice paint, and was pinstriped by a professional using Galloway design, all brass, copper, and flywheels have been polished, the base and bottom rails are solid oak, stained and coated with Polyurethane, it doesn’t move when it runs. It has 1.312″ bore, 2.530″ stroke, 7.650 flywheels, and it runs well. Also included is a wood case, 24″ x 11″ x 16 high, fixture to hold the engine down while traveling, an ignition coil, and the original drawings. I do my best to let you know the condition of my items. 1/3 scale model of a Galloway hit and miss engine. This has an igniter style ignition. Flywheels are 10″ in diameter, 1 9/16″ bore by 3 3/8 stroke. With lubricators, machine drawings and a scale igniter coil (no pix). Engine turns over nicely and good compression. 2 1/4hp Galloway Boss of the Farm hit and miss engine. Valves have been done but need to be lapped in. Engine looks to have a new sleeve in it. Rings will need to be seated. Missing rocker arm and push rod. Cam shaft needs holder for detent. Repair on the detent but could easily be ground down. Old repair on the bottom of the water jacket which is hard to see. Has a v-groove in the pulley side flywheel like a couple others I’ve seen. The pitting in the groove matches the rest of the engine so it’s been there a long time… Likely from the factory. Would be a great winter project! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, later this month or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, next year.
