This Kit includes, Cad Drawn Plans, a DVD containing assembly and operational instructions, serialized Brass Name Plate, A complete set of springs (3) igniter, (1) intake valve, (1) exhaust valve, (1) fuel pump, and (2) governor, (8) total. (1) set of three gears Crank and cam Gears, governor and governor pinion gear all cut and ready to assemble. Castings include the Cylinder, Base Casting, Bearing caps, and two Flywheels. We Also include class 40 cast iron material for the, Piston, Pulley, Exhaust Head, Intake Head, Muffler and Cam gear bracket. 360 Brass Material is Provided for the Carburetor, fuel pump, Fuel Pump Check Valve, and the connecting rod throw bearing. This is a previously restored engine and is in running condition. I have come across an opportunity for a famous upright and I have two of these so one gets to go and a new addition to my collection is hopefully days away. I have never run the engine myself but saw it in action every county fair. The muffler is incorrect and the spark plug is a champion # 25 if that is a issue. This is a model 92 Maytag engine built in the late 1920′s. It has been restored from the ground up. I disassembled it and bead blasted the parts, sealed the tank, resized the rod journal, and went through the carburetor. I put in new piston rings and honed the cylinder. I ran two tanks of fuel through the engine to help with break in. Then I drained the fuel, cleaned and painted it, and applied the decal. Care was taken to make the engine look and run as it did when it left the factory 85 years ago. Individually and not included in the sale of these engines. I have restored more than 100 of these over the years so the experience helps make a nice restoration, the right way. You could also come to my farm in Northern Iowa to pick it up. I got this engine about 40 years ago, intending to restore it but never got around to it. The brass plaque on the cooling water tank says: Alamo Engine Co. Built for Fleck Bros. Ignition is a Webster Tri Polar Oscillator – type AMM. Centrifugal governor on flywheel. I believe that all parts are included (not guaranteed). Two piston rings broken (replacements online). Will need new springs for intake and exhaust valves. Original galvanized gas tank has rusted through, use it as a pattern for replacement. I made a new bronze wrist pin bearing. Main crankshaft bearings (babbit metal) will need work. Ditto big end bearing on connecting rod. No sign it was ever abused in its working life – pumping water in a farmhouse. This is a 2 1/2hp hit miss engine tagged as the acme engine company from lansing michingan. It was actually built by rawleigh schryer of freeport illinois. It turns over and has decent compression. Mechanically it is in pretty good shape but does have some issues. The head has been welded and will need to be cleaned up. A nut has been welded to the mixer for needle valve to screw into. Part of the rocker arm mount flange has broken off – i do have the piece that broke out. Governor collar and detent roller are rather pitted from rust. Biggest issue is that all the poured in place babbitt bearings have been melted out. The mains now have babbitt inserts laying in the rough cast bearing pockets and are crudely shimmed with washers. Rod is the same way but has bronze inserts. This is poorly done and proper babbitt must be poured before the engine can really be run. I did get it to pop a few times by squirting gas in the mixer but didn’t want to chance things anymore than that. I’ve not had this engine apart or been further into it other than quickly cleaning the ignitor. Yes this engine needs work but i don’t think it will be a difficult project. Look at all the photos very carefully and feel free to ask questions. Or certified cheque unless prior arrangements are made. Unusual hit miss engine. Vintage indian motorcycle parts. Here is a very rare and old tank cooled 4hp waterloo gasoline engine co. This is the predecessor to the john deere co i believe. It has great compression and should run without any trouble but i haven’t tried it. The are no cracks, breaks, or welds any where that i can see or know of on the head and cylinder area. One tooth is missing off the crankshaft gear. I don’t think that will hurt anything at all. The one of the main bearing caps also seems to have an old repair that is hard to see and will not hurt anything. Take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Very good compression, turns over fine. This item is also for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Most items will go out faster though.
