This is a very hard to find original governor detent for a 2 1/2hp Fluted Hopper Aermotor hit and miss gas engine. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what it is for. If it isn’t please educate me! It is about 7 3/4 inches long and pivots with a 1/2 hole. It is in excellent, used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The roller moves freely with average wear and it should be ready to go to work! It came from the estate of an early engine collector. If yours is broken, missing, or repaired here’s a chance at a very nice one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. The pictures tell the story. Governor Bracket Cam Gear for. 3HP – 6HP Fairbanks Morse Z. Throttle Governed Gas Engine. Bracket and gear are in good condition and ready to use. For use on a 3-6 HP Fairbanks Morse “Z” throttle governed engine. Pot Metal Bracket painted black. Takes AB33 or AB34 magneto and mounts 2 3/16 center to center. Mag clamp mounting is 3 7/8 center to center – mag clamp is not included. 4 7/16 center to center 2 bolt engine mounting. Cast iron gear has 70 teeth and 7 1/8 diameter. This is a very large and impressive 2 1/2 Gardner steam engine governor. It could also work for a large gas engine. It is in excellent, used condition just as found from an old collector’s estate. Everything moves as it should and it has very little wear on the the gears or on the shaft. All of the internals are in the steam chest. It stands about 28 inches tall and mounts with a flange on the bottom as can be seen. These large governors are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for a project don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also be a great conversation piece on the shelf! I can deliver this for free (or a cold beverage) to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year.
