This is an Original Holm Governor Bracket For the EARLY Sparta Economy Hit & Miss Gas Engines…. This is For the A & B Models Of Sparta Economy Engines, Not Sure But I think It will work On All Sizes 2 Hp & UP Please Do YOUR OWN Research As Well……. This Is The Holm Governor Bracket with the speed control On it!! A Very Hard Part To Find!! I Believe this to Be New Old Stock, As it has no Signs of being Bolted On Or ever used. I Found this Years Ago & Have Kept it Around In case the right Engine Deal Came Along So I Could Put It To Use, Such Has never Happened So I Have decide to Put My shelf Pet Up For Sale.. I will Never Find Another One & Likely No One Else will either!! This Is In New Condition so Signs of wear Or Being Bolted On To Anything The catches for the speed control Show No Signs of wear However 2 Of Them Are Slightly Chipped But It Really Effects Nothing. This is a very hard to find original governor for a walking beam Alamo hit and miss gas engine. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what it’s for. If it isn’t please educate me! It might also work for some steam applications. Please do your homework to be sure it will work for you. It mounts with a half moon shelf about 4 3/8 inches long with two holes 2 5/15 inches apart on center. There is also a larger hole in the shelf. It stands about 10 1/4 inches tall overall. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than a bushing in the horizontal shaft housing. This should probably be redone as it is worn again. The gears are a bit worn but will last a good while yet. The vertical shaft and bearings are nice and tight with very little wear. Everything is nice and greasy and moves as it should. Other than the horizontal shaft there seems to be very little wear elsewhere. I can’t remember ever seeing another Alamo governor like this available so if you need one don’t miss it. Early Alamo parts of any kind are rather. Difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. This one is isn’t perfect but with a little elbow grease could be made perfect. It would surely beat making a complete governor! I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. The pictures tell the story. I’ve been informed by an educated Alamo engine person that this governor is for the 9hp and larger push rod engines and not the walking beam models. Please do your homework to be sure it fits or is able to be adapted to your needs. It still looks great on the shelf, however! Rare 1/2 npt two weight flyball governor. Please note one of the gears is worn from misalignment , somehow. It will work fine as is, I think. Although I had thought about building the teeth up with braze and re-cutting the teeth. But, I found a different model that I’m going to use so, someone else can have this one. I looked a long time for this governor, it’s really quite nice and complete with the pulleys. It looks to have been repainted black at some point. Written on it “WRENCH FOR GOVERNOR”. 17 1/2 long, 5 wide at jaws. Is in excellent condition. Very hard part to come by. If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I have it and haven’t gotten around to it yet so just check with me. This is a throttle governor type ignighter fired two cycle hit and miss engine that starts and runs fast or by adjusting the mixer will fire and coast nice and easy. This is a rare engine, with no serial number on the original brass tag, so it’s approx. There is a letter “B” embossed into the cylinder.. This is similar to the marine engines with the exception of the extra base and fly wheel sizes. Amazing condition with no cracks, no splits, no welds! A very scarce and desirable gas engine! One flywheel is 18 in. The other is approx 14 in. Call me if your serious and.
