Governor with weights and speed control that came off of an 1 3/4 hp Hercules engine (tag pictured for reference only) and will fit other similar engines such as Economy, Jeager and Arco from 1 1/2 – 2 1/4hp. I do not see any breaks, cracks or welds on this item. One valve moves better than the other but both do move. Came off of a non running engine so I can only judge this part from its external condition. Check out my other items. 2697 Horizontal 3 Ball Fly Governor Steam Hit Miss Engine. This listing is for an antique Judson model No. 2697 Ball Governor for a hit and miss engine. It is in great antique shape, and with the proper final touches could easily be put to use again. This is the perfect piece for finishing or starting a new hit miss engine build! It comes with both belt pulleys as well, to re-convert back to an older belt system. It has the original metal branding tag still attached (see photos) which is rare on these kinds of parts, especially in this good of condition. All the gears and levers spin and turn freely, one spot seems to be held with copper wire in place of a missing pin. It has the original knob, which is also usually missing on these as well. It also comes mounted to what I assume is the original mounting bracket/ base. Top to bottom of base: roughly 18.5 inches. Width: roughly 8.5 inches. I have cleaned this item to the best of my ability. It has had multiple scrubbings, washings, and sudsings to get as much of the 120 or more years worth of grime off. It still has some stubborn residue left, but nothing that will affect the functionality of the item. Here is a neat old pulley that I think might be correct for an old steam governor. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. 6″ in diameter, 1-7/8″ wide. 5/8″ mounting hole but I think it has a bushing in it, if that bushing was removed the hole would be 3/4″. Governor Bracket for 1 1/2hp – 2hp Hercules / Economy. Governor bracket is in good condition and ready to use. Fits 1 1/2 HP – 2 HP Hercules / Economy Hit Miss engines. With gear, weights and speed changer. 1 1/2 center to center for mounting – 2 bolts included. No breaks, crack, or welds. I apologize for any inconvenience.
