For your consideration is an original Head for a 5hp or 6hp Hercules or Economy Hit Miss Stationary Engine. The 5/8″ mounting holes are about 3-13/16″ apart from the next closest one on center. The raised center area is a little under 5 in diameter. The outer diameter of the gasket surface is about 8. It has a 2″ NPT exhaust, 1-1/4″ NPT carb mounting. The valves are pretty good in the guides, they may have been replaced in the last few years. Looks fine inside the water jacket area. There is a repair in the water jacket as can be seen in the pics. The engine this came off it was running before disassembly. It’s 30 lbs actual weight before box or packing material. For your consideration is an original International Harvester, IHC, McCormick Deering 1-1/2hp M Carburetor. This is for the ignitor style engines. This has 2 needle valves and a lever on top for the fuel position of start, Drain and run. Both needles and the fuel valve turn as the should. There is an extra tab included which Im not sure where it goes (Im not an M expert). The starting bowl cap is not missing and the choke plate is missing. The body casting number is 9624TA. It will need elbows and a plug inserted on the right side to be more complete. Someone drilled the top of the intake and tapped it did a 1/4 NPT thread which has a plug in it presently. 1900 LISTER Hit Miss Engines Tin Litho Illus Sign Horses Canada Rare UK Green. Rare original 1900s tin litho advertising sign from the LISTER Stationary Engine Co Canadian Division, shows various locations across Canada at bottom. A great early Hit N Miss farm engine advertising sign showing a nice view of some horses in pasture as well the green Lister engine to the left. The sign measures at 26 3/4″ X 18 3/4″ inches. The edge has an embossed border for a picture frame look. Has a little rust at right edge including a small piece out of right side but no thinning metal problems. There is some surface corrosion at upper right quarter and surface has not been cleaned or restored. Still has good bright colors overall with little or no fading issues. Has just a few scuffs and minor dings. There are a few small old nail holes around the edge, each corner has a hole plus 3 & 4 at top or bottom, one at sides. This authentic sign is a hard to find survivor of a simpler time many of us long for again. Would make a nice addition to any collection. Scroll down to see all 12 images. The prototype of the original “Waterloo Boy” engines were built piece by piece, bolted together as proof of function and later cast of iron once prototyping was complete. Engine is approximately 24″ long x 9-1/2″ tall x 9 wide mounted on show quality finished white oak display board. 600 parts and 120 hours of assembly time goes into each model engine. Hard anodized aluminum (including cylinder bore) with a surface hardness of 91 Rockwell. Piston rings are much softer to reduce wear. Runs on Coleman fuel (white gas) in 1 oz fuel tank and needs oiled with 30 wt engine oil. Ignition is two 9 volt batteries in series and a low tension coil to fire the igniter, all m. Ounted in white oak box. Runs at 600 RPM for 12 to 15 minutes on 1 oz of fuel. Hand start by spinning the flywheel. There are small, non-mechanical, variations on each engine such as front badging, types of oilers etc. Each engine comes with serial number brass plate. THIS IS NOT A TOY. This is a real operational engine. There are moving parts, uses flammable fluids and produces heat that can cause personal injuries. This is a really nice old 8hp marine type gas engine built by the straubel machine company in green bay wisconsin. This was a very short lived company that didn’t build very many engines. This is a fresh water engine and is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos. It is much larger than most of the marine engines that turn up as it is 8hp. It stands about 37 inches tall on the nice fabricated presentation base that it sits on. It could easily be used for stationary purposes like this. Everything seems to be correct and original on this engine. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that i can see or know of. It turns over nicely and has excellent compression even after sitting for several years. The only thing i can see that is missing is the tab for the timer to rub on the hub of the flywheel for ignition. This would be very easy to fabricate. This engine is a two cycle engine and will run in either direction. The flywheel measures about 21 1/2 inches in diameter with a 4 1/2 inch face. The are two notches in the edge of it to start it with a bar in either direction. It has a very heavy and ornate original brass serial tag on it. This is a rather rare engine as straubels don’t turn up very often in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’re looking for something different this is certainly it. I can deliver this for free to lesueur, mn, baraboo, wi, portland, in, or coolspring, pa, later this year. It can also be picked up here. The steel cart it is sitting on it is not included in the sale. I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. This is a really nice old 8hp marine type gas engine built by the straubel machine company in green bay wisconsin. This was a very short lived company that didn’t build very many engines. This is a fresh water engine and is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos. It is much larger than most of the marine engines that turn up as it is 8hp. It stands about 37 inches tall on the nice fabricated presentation base that it sits on. It could easily be used for stationary purposes like this. Everything seems to be correct and original on this engine. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that i can see or know of. It turns over nicely and has excellent compression even after sitting for several years. The only thing i can see that is missing is the tab for the timer to rub on the hub of the flywheel for ignition. This would be very easy to fabricate. This engine is a two cycle engine and will run in either direction. The flywheel measures about 21 1/2 inches in diameter with a 4 1/2 inch face. The are two notches in the edge of it to start it with a bar in either direction. It has a very heavy and ornate original brass serial tag on it. This is a rather rare engine as straubels don’t turn up very often in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’re looking for something different this is certainly it.
