Up for sale or offers here is a vintage Monitor model VJ engine with pump jack and Red Jacket hand pump. As far as I can tell, you have everything you need here to make a working well pump model powered by the Monitor VJ engine. Engine appears complete, but it has been sitting for years. This is one of the projects dad just never got to and now he is working on model engines and moving the big cast iron ones out. This would make a great display to set up on a wash tub and have a working well pump at a show. I don’t know how much the engine needs to get it going, but I don’t think it would be anything major, probably a good fuel system cleaning and some fresh oil and a hot buzz coil. I don’t see and CBWs that need attention. Like I said, been sitting out of the elements in the she for the last 25 years, not sure when it last ran. I have a hoist and can assist with loading. If my price is too high, shoot me an offer. I take all reasonable offers and even some unreasonable ones. This incredible Hit and Miss Engine is exactly the one you have been looking for! The workmanship on this engine is beautiful. So solid, simple and elegant. It appears that everything is there but I have not tried to start her, I will leave that to a person who knows these engines better then I do. The sled base measures 22.75″ long, just shy of 5.75″ wide. The engine width at the widest point is about 8″ with a length of about 15″ or so. This is an extremely hard to find original Lunkenheimer 1 inch Left Hand brass fuel mixer or carburetor for a hit and miss or early marine engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is the higher end mixer with the air damper or choke plate in it. Everything works and moves as it should and it has very little wear anywhere on it. The 1 inch mounting threads are in great condition. It needs a ground union for the fuel line to hook up but these are available rather inexpensively from several of the hobby suppliers. These mixers are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for any reason here it is. The pictures tell the story. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice! You’ll like it. This is a rather hard to find and very high quality original biddle hand held tachometer. It was made in switzerland and measures rotating speed from 30 to 50,000 revolutions per minute. It is in excellent slightly used condition and is in it’s original case with all of the attachments still in their places. The original instruction card is still under the loop in the cover of the case. The case measures about 7 inches long. These tachometers are extremely expensive new and are top of the line instruments. They are great to have at your disposal when determining the speed of gas or steam engines or dynamos or other equipment that are being driven by them. The pictures tell the story on this nice one. It’s as close to new as you could hope to find.
