Model M Cylinder Head. This is a good used cylinder head. There are no cracks, brakes, or repairs on this head. Both valves move and look to be in very good condition with good springs and rocker arm. The throttle is stuck but I doubt it will take much to free it. All gasket surfaces are clean with no pitting. All threaded studs are good. Head mounting holes measure 3 5/8 center to center. I ran this head through an electrolysis tank for a full day and it came out very good and removed most of any rust and grease. Prime candidate for use, dont waste your time on a junk head. Here is a very nice and very hard to find head for about a 6hp Stover RX engine. The valves and seat look and feel good. There is a shiny spot on the head, I don’t think that is a repaired area. Maybe someone smoothed out a casting flaw. If it is a repair it looks perfect. There are no other questionable areas on the head. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. Came off a 6hp Stover RX. The mounting bolt hole pattern is about 5-13/16″ x 5-13/16″. About 10-1/4 in overall diameter. The carb mounting studs are about 1-5/8 apart on center. HERE IS A RARE HARD TO FIND FAIRBANKS MORSE No. 6 DEEP WELL HEAD PUMP JACK. THIS THING IS VERY HEAVY ABOUT 150 LBS. AND IS BUILT FOR A DEEP WELL PUMP. IT TURNS FREE AND SEEMS TO BE TIGHT STILL. IT WILL NEED A VERY GOOD CLEANING UP AND FILLED WITH THE PROPER OIL. THE MOTOR BASE MAY OR NOT BE ORIGINAL AND IS QUITE RUST PITTED FROM BEING DOWN IN A WELL PIT. THE CAST IRON UNIT IS RUSTY SOME, PRETTY MUCH TYPICAL FOR SOMETHING OF THIS AGE. SEE ALL THE PICTURES FOR CONDITION. THE V-BELT PULLEY MEASURES 14 INCHES, IT HAS A STRAIGHT LINE WITH NO ARCH STROKE OF ABOUT 6 INCHES. I COULD NOT FIND OUT MUCH ABOUT HOW MANY OF THESE WERE BUILT, AND CANNOT FIND MUCH ABOUT IT ON THE WEB. IT WOULD LOOK NICE REPURPOSED AND USED WITH A HIT AND MISS ENGINE TO OPERATE A DISPLAY PUMP AT SHOWS. I NEVER DID ANYTHING WITH THIS THING, IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE SHED FOR A LONG TIME NOW. Here is a very nice and very hard to find unbroken head for a 5hp and or 6hp Hercules or Economy hit and miss engine. There are no cracks, breaks, or welds. The valves have some wear in the guides, they should work and seal up fine but they would need to be redone to be perfect. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. Fits a 5hp and or 6hp Hercules or Economy hit and miss engine. The mounting holes are about 3-13/16 apart from the next closest one on center. The raised center area is a little under 5 in diameter. The outer diameter of the gasket surface is about 8. 2″ pipe exhaust, 1-1/4″ pipe carb mounting. The valves are a little loose in their guides but it should work fine. This is an original cylinder head with valves for a 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It mounts with four holes on a 4 1/4 square pattern and is correct for the early style ignitor fired 3hp engines with the fuel mixer attached to the side of the head. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a very minor crack (unless it’s a casting flaw) that in the face of it. I don’t think it should be an issue and should be easy enough to remedy with some Loctite wicking sealer if it is. It has the original valves, springs, and keepers as can be seen. The valves move as they should and other than some minor cleaning this head should be ready to be used on an engine. It also has the original water injection on it. The throttle shaft has very little wear and it has the original throttle plate and spring on it. This head couldn’t have been used much as it has a good amount of original paint on it yet as can be seen. The pictures tell the story. These original cylinder heads that are this nice are quite tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf.
