This is an original cast iron cylinder head with valves for an Alamo, Rock Island, Empire, Cockshutt, or other Alamo-built hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. The head has a part number of 5948. The head is about 7 inches in diameter and mounts with 4 holes on a 4 1/4 inch square bolt pattern. I would say this is for about a 4-5 hp engines. If you know what size it fits please educate me. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The valves are both in it and look like they are usable but the intake valve is bent a bit and will need some attention. They both move but are a bit stiff. There appears to be very little wear on the faces of the valves or in the guides. The setscrew for the mixer moves as it should. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. This is an extremely hard to find original unbroken or repaired cylinder head for a 6hp International Harvester Type M gas engine. It is part number HA 690 and is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has a new throttle shaft and plate in it. The valve is nice in it’s guide but it needs the exhaust valve and spring. The seats look decent but you may want to touch them up anyway. The spark plug threads and exhaust threads are in great shape. This head mounts on a 5 3/8 inch square bolt pattern. If you need a head for your engine because yours is missing, broken, or repaired here’s your chance at a very nice one. A large percentage of 6hp M’s have broken or repaired heads! Fairbanks Morse head for hit miss engine. Is in good condition and ready to use. Leaving with original patina, new owner can shine up if desired. Head is off a 10 hp Z Fairbanks Morse. No breaks, cracks, or welds. Is in really good shape and check out my other items for Fairbank also. Hard part to come by. Just the part to complete your restoration or put on the shelf as an extra.
