Antique 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp. Hit and miss engine on Waterloo cart. Twenty years ago the previous owner had it bored and sleeved, with new rings, and crank. Two wheels on the cart have old repairs and all the wheels are a bit wobbly with age but cart pulls nice and is solid. I would guess that the head has an old repair, lower left side, but not sure on that either, starts easy and runs great, (sure on that) crank guard is a reproduction. PS the old boy is running in some of the pix. Yes I can store out of the weather for a few months once paid in full. If you have any questions send me a message. Thanks for looking & enjoy your day! Two wheels on the cart have old repairs and all the wheels are a bit wobbly with age but cart pulls nice and is solid. I would guess that the head has an old repair, lower left side, but not sure on that either, starts easy and runs great, (sure on that) crank guard is a reproduction. This is a rather hard to find very early style “heavy pattern” 2 1/2hp hit and miss gasoline engine made by the John Lauson Manufacturing Company in New Holstein, Wisconsin. It is one of the earliest styles as it has the cylinder and crankcase cast in one piece. It is ignitor fired and is a true hit and miss gas engine. It is in good condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the fuel saver tab needing to be straightened out. This should be a very simple project. The engine turns over nicely and has good compression even after sitting for a few years. It looks to have some original paint under the repaint. The flywheels run true and the bearings and gearing all seem to be in great shape. This engine would benefit from an unrestoration or a proper restoration but displays quite nicely as it is. The gas tank is cast into the base. It has a very nice heavy cast brass serial tag on it. This is a very early engine that doesn’t turn up very often! It has nice lines to it and would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss engine collection or display. Other than a fuel line, gas, a battery and coil this engine shouldn’t take much to make noise! The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. I can deliver this for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, engine shows or swap meets later this year. I have a forklift to load if you choose to pick it up. This is an extremely nice original and VERY hard to find John Deere and Webber Gold Medal No. It is fresh from an old collection where it was tucked away for many years. It has lots of original paint on it and displays very nicely. Everything seems to turn and work as it should. All of the internals are there in the separating head and it has the original bowl, spouts, and float with it. It has the original Gold Medal and Deere and Webber tags on it. It also has the remnants of an original decal on the side of the body. It is great shape with no cracks, breaks or repairs that I can see or know of other than the solder on the bowl spout needing some attention. It is also missing the wing nut type screw that secures the bowl to the saddle and the pail shelf. This separator was made by Associated Manufacturers in Waterloo, Iowa, for John Deere and it would be very likely that an Associated cream separator pail shelf would be the same as the one for this separator. This is a fantastic display piece for your early hit and miss gas engine display or John Deere machinery collection. Cream separators like this hardly ever turn up in the wild or even at swap meets anymore so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss this one. The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it!
