This is a brand NEW CUSTOM The York manufactured by Flinchbaugh mfg Co. Brass Data tag copied from an original tag. THIS IS AN ETCHED TAG AND HAS DEPTH. IT IS NOT A PRINTED TAG. I make these tags myself and take great pride and care to make sure this tag has the look and the feel of an original. Happy to say that this tag was made right here in the U. Made from 0.032 thick sheet brass. I use a process very similar to the way the original tags were made. You will be hard pressed to tell the difference in my tags and an original. This tag is ready to stamp with your engines’ specific information. Mounting holes are not drilled but they are clearly marked by the etching process. Depth of etch is consistent with original antique brass tags. This tag has 2 horizontal mounting holes with a center to center distance of approximately 3.400. IMPORTANT: Please measure your antiques’ mounting hole spacing to ensure that this tag will fit your particular application. Please see pictures for overall dimensions. We are in the process of reconditioning several Original engine patterns so we can continue to produce these classic engine casting kits. Some patterns are 30 years old and need TLC to produce the best castings possible so, please, be patient. Our goal is to provide the best casting kits and plan sets available for these “Classic Engines” from the past. Bob Shores Little Devil hit miss engine (One of Bob’s last engine design). First Time offered in Years.. The Little Devil vertical engine is intended to be a companion to the Little Angel horizontal engine. Preliminary specifications are: bore 5/8″, Height 4.5″, Width 3.9″ and flywheel diameter of 2 5/8″. The first step is, of course, to make preliminary drawings of the concept. The drawings are then modified to standard dimensions, drills, reams, gears, bearings and bolt sizes. This design and castings has been missing for years. We recovered the patterns and had new patterns made for the flywheels. Flywheels patterns were burned up in a foundry file but one of our original flywheel patterns for the other engines patterns so we had one of the original little Devil flywheels on it so we built up a new patterns for the small flywheels. This was originally built by Bob Shores as a water cooled design as seen in the last picture of Bob’s first construction. The patterns were moved around and ended up in the Bay area engine modelers club where plans were finished and refined with some cad drawings. A air cool version was also designed and built so this can also be built as a air cooled version. This casting kit and plans consists of. 2 castings (head and crankcase). 2 Brass Flywheels (RED or Yellow Brass). 9 cad type parts drawings printed. 4 supplemental drawings from BAEM. 13 pages of Builders Hints. These hints are written and with photos of some of the machining bob did while developing this engine. Hints will be included in this sale. This engine is for advanced beginner or intermediate builder. Aluminum high strength Alloy from restored original Patterns from Bob and Margaret Shores. The First Picture is from a Disabled Engine Builder Michael Barker JR. Michael built this engine as a 3/4 inch bore with water pump, Barrel, mount and ignition system. He is offering a Building service for this engine and for the air cooled version if interested you can contact him by going to Engine dash Museum dot com and look up this engine. 1/3 scale Economy Hit & Miss Engine Casting Kit. Last 3 from the estate of Joe Tochtrop No more to be produced. 11 Aluminum castings 4 cast iron castings- crankshaft, pullet and 2 flywheels as shown Complete Plans with parts / materials list These are the last remaining castings from the Estate of Joe Tochtrop Includes my personal modification for Viton head gasket and piston ring, including parts. Joe was a long time maker of casting kits for various scale model engines. Upon his death I was able to obtain his entire casting conglomeration for his lifelong assortment of various motors. Sorting thru them, I found enough individual castings to able to put together a few complete casting kits for some of his motors. Because some of his casting patterns were lost, this engine in Joe’s configuration will no longer be produced. If you’ve ever wanted to build one of his motors, don’t miss this last opportunity to get an original Joe Tochtrop casting set. I included 3 pictures of this completed casting set from the dozens I have made over the years. As you can see, the finished version of Joes plans are only limited by your imagination. One of my upgrades made over the years was the use of a Viton Quad O-ring for a head gasket and piston ring. I also developed a tapered crank and flywheel plan to ensure straight running flywheels. This kit includes the plan changes for both upgrades, as well as the 2 Viton Quad O-rings you will need. Completed motor is approximately 12 inches long, 7 inches tall with 6 1/2 inch flywheels. Bore is 1 1/8th inch. My personal engines from this kit generally run between 350 and 500 rpm’s. Using the variable speed lever and flyball governor.
