This is a very nice original Nathan Handy #4 1 pint size hydrostatic oiler for and old steam engine. It is in as found very nice condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It appears to be complete with all of the original knobs and valves and retains most of its original nickel plating. Other than a little cleaning this should be a usable oiler and has very nice original patina. It stands about 11 1/2 inches tall and has 1/2 npt threads on the bottom. These old hydrostatic lubricators are getting tougher to find in the wild or even at swap meets with each passing year so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a very nice one. In beautiful condition, all original. Some shrinkage cracks in an original walnut wheel handle, all valves function smoothly with little force needed to turn the handles. It does turn but turns stiffly. Sight glass is good. Very greasy, Rusty and dirty. Will need a total rebuild. There is a crack on the adjustable slider block on the arm mechanism. This is a very hard to find McCord McCanna single feed mechanical lubricator or oiler for a steam engine or other piece of machinery. It has a cast iron body and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. The body is about 3 x 5 1/2 x 4 inches tall. It is about 8 1/4 inches deep (front to back) overall. It mounts with holes in the flange on the back side. It turns, ratchets, and pumps as it should. The original cover and thumbnut are on it and it should be ready to go to work for you. These old working mechanical lubricators are exceedingly tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a very nice one. I believe to be complete and original marked Detroit lubricator. The glass is intact and you can see through it. The knobs all turn but one, the one that comes out diagonally. I only tried to move it gently with my hand not tools or wrenches were used. It is obvious that 2 of the handles have been replaced. Overall I think its in excellent condition. Again I did not clean it at all the hole patina thing! PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE. I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO BE HAPPY! And HAVE with NO PROBLEMS! If it has gotten to bad I toss it like the 12 atlas tail stocks and the 3 milk crates of collets and all the other stuff. I can not do 30 or 60 days to be honest it doesnt make sense to me. Ding or mark on everything. If I can not then I must take pictures of everything. I will extend to you the following as my father did. I believe this is far to all of us if you have concerns please drop me a note. But I think and it is just me if everyone is on the same table it is all fair. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS! I stuff to get rid of! However I do not view “Best Offer” as an offer of 40 to 60 percent less then.. I promise you it will get there safe and sound.
