Large Vintage Antique Hit & Miss Old Gasoline/Gas Stationary Early Steam Engine Antique Oiler or Oil Lubricator. This large vintage old original “Manzel Improved” antique Oil Lubricator or Oiler was very well-made of mostly heavy nickel-plated cast iron with a glass cylinder and measures approximately 12-1/2 inches tall by 12-3/4 inches wide, while the glass cylinder is about 5 inches O. Has a adjustable ratcheting mechanism that seems to work as it should. No idea of the original Fitment but came from the estate of a hit & miss engine/Ford Model T parts collector. Very good used with some plating loss/wear/marks/etc. Glass cylinder has 2 tight cracks. Small glass cylinder looks good. Please see photos for condition details. Assortment of Essex Brass Corp & Michigan Lubricator Co. #1 Essex Brass Corp. Brass oiler/lubricator marked “Essex Brass Corp Detroit USA”. Size: Oiler measures 5 ¼” high X 2 ½” in diameter. Glass cylinder is approx. Similar in size to a Lunkenheimer #4. Cylinder glass is dirty but intact. Fill cap is intact. Sight glass is intact but may not be original. Wrench marks on bottom of sight glass portion. Have not cleaned it. Will let new owner clean it to his specifications. #2 Michigan Lubricator Co. Brass oiler/lubricator marked “Michigan Lubricator Co Detroit Mich”. Size: Oiler measures 5 ½” high X 2 5/8″ in diameter. Similar in size to a Lunkenheimer #3. Top flipper is a bit loose. #3 Michigan Lubricator Co. Sight glass is missing. Stem and fill cap are missing as well as sight glass. Glass has a crack. #4 Michigan Lubricator Co. Sight glass is intact. Glass cylinder and sight glass is intact. #5 D T Williams Valve Co. Brass oiler/lubricator marked “D T Williams Valve Co Cin O No 1 ½ Tacoma”. Size: Oiler measures 5 3/8″ high X 2″ in diameter. Similar in size to a Lunkenheimer # 1½. #6 Michigan Lubricator Co. Size: Oiler measures 4 5/8″ high X 2″ in diameter. Similar in size to a Lunkenheimer #1½. Glass cylinder is intact with a couple of minor pits. #7 Essex Brass Corp. Size: Oiler measures 4 3/8″ high X 1 3/4″ in diameter. Similar in size between Lunkenheimer #1 and #1 ½. Cylinder glass is good. #8 Michigan Lubricator Co. Size: Oiler measures 4″ high X 1 7/8″ in diameter. Similar in size to a Lunkenheimer #1 1/2. Very nice unmarked lubricator/oiler in great shape!! Overall this is about 7 3/4 long. Just about 3 1/4 across at it’s widest point. The glass cylinder is about 2 1/8 tall. It is approximately the same size as a Lunkenheimer #3 oiler. Bottom thread is 3/8 NPT. Glass cylinder intact with no cracks or chips. Sight glass is intact. Awesome oiler – would look great on a hit miss engine! Has a couple of extra valves on the bottom portion. One with a wooden knob. Both knob at top and bottom are in great shape. I have not been able to find out anything about this oiler since it is not marked. Wooden stand is not included. Have not cleaned oiler. Will allow new owner to clean to their own specifications. This is a real nice original 4-feed mechanical oiler or lubricator for an early gas engine, tractor, or other piece of machinery. It was made by Madison Kipp and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the sight tent needs the glass/plastic replaced. This is quite simple from an old 2 liter Coke bottle. It seems to have very little wear anywhere on it. The insides look to be in great condition. The ratchet handle only moves in one direction. The lubricator doesn’t turn but I didn’t want to force it. When the drive shaft is broken each end turns individually. This one isn’t broken yet and will likely be just fine after it is taken apart and freed up and cleaned. The outside of the case could also use a bit of cleaning but the old oil residue has certainly been a good preservative! It mounts with two holes about 9 1/2 inches apart on center. The case measures about 4 1/2 x 8 3/8 inches and is about 8 1/4 inches tall overall. It has the original serial tag on the top. I’ve had many of these lubricators over the years and this one has the least amount of usage or wear on any that I can remember. These oilers are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. The pictures tell the story. Very nice well marked “Lunkenheimer No 5 Paragon”. “Patented Jan 21, 1902″. Nice brass patina for antique oiler. Overall this is about 8 long. Just about 3 3/8 across at it’s widest point. The glass cylinder is about 3 tall. Minor chip in glass cylinder as well as a couple of minor pits. Sight glass is intact. Normal amount of corrosion, wear and tear. Oiler has vent tube and check valve. Check ball is intact (see pictures). Wooden stand is not included. Have not cleaned oiler and will probably need new gaskets. Will allow new owner to clean to their own specifications. No reserve, read particulars. Here is an american lubricator oiler. It is made similar to the lunkenheimer duplex oiler. The glass measures 2″ tall, and 2″ wide. It reads american lub’r co. On the top of the cap. Overall height is 6″, and it has 3/8″ connecting threads that look to be in good shape. The top glass and 2 bottom glass have no chips or cracks. It is clean and in good overall condition.
