HOT Webster Type AL Low Tension Magneto. Webster Type “L” low tension magneto. Flip type mag with 3 bars. Bench tested – DOES NOT SPARK on a 12v test light. 4 bolt mounting 2 1/16″ x 2 1/16″. Two of the mounting holes are busted and will need to be repaired with heli coil. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to call me with questions. This is a very hard to find original 3/4 Gardner steam engine governor. It could also work for a gas engine. It is in excellent, used condition just as found from an old collector’s estate. Everything moves as it should and it has very little wear on the the gears or on the shaft. All of the internals are in the steam chest. It stands about 17 inches tall and mounts with 3/4 npt threads that are in great shape as can be seen. The manual speed change lever works as it should. The screw type speed changer on the other side (I think it’s called the ball ranger) has been broken but I would think this would be a fairly easy piece to find from a parts governor or easily made. These original governors are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for a project don’t miss your chance on this one. Here is a very nice magneto for a John Deere E hit and miss gas engine. It makes an excellent spark. It has perfectly tight bearings. It looks like the body and end plate has been replaced by a very nice aluminum reproduction Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a low tension magneto, it is meant to work with an igniter and will not produce at spark that will jump an air gap. It will not work with a spark plug. The spark it produces can be observed by rubbing a wire from the terminal against the case of the mag while turning the shaft. It does have to be timed to the engine. New Body and Bearing Plate! 3/8 shaft for gear mounting. The mounting holes have excellent threads. For questions 419 789 1159. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. In my opinion this is a nice magneto. If you have any questions about how to use it on your engine please ask. Here is a Webster K magneto. It makes an excellent spark. The bearings have only very minimal or no wear. The original 1/4″ studs have been replaced with 5/16″ ones. That means it will not fit on a stock bracket unless it gets drilled out. There is some cracking in the case around 2 of the studs. All of the studs fit tight in their holes. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. Model K, Serial No. Very tight bearings, only very minimal or no wear. The mounting pattern is about 2″ x 2″. All studs fit tight in their holes but they are bigger than they should be. Some cracking by 2 of the studs. Ready to use but it will not fit a stock bracket since the studs are 5/16″ instead of 1/4″. This is a low tension magneto meant to work with an igniter. It will not produce a spark that will jump an air gap no matter who tells you it will or how close you hold the wire to ground.. It makes a spark that can be seen when the igniter points open. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. Here is a Webster L magneto. It makes an excellent spark. The bearings have a little bit of normal wear but that will not hurt a thing. The armature spins freely with the springs off, good magnetic pull can be felt when doing that. The rear bearing plate is a little chipped out in the oil hole area, that is a common thing and will not hurt the way it works. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it.
