Manufactured in Bordentown NJ. Measures 2 0″ high x 16″ long x 20 W at furthest points. Motor is stuck and does not turn over. I have not tried to free this as I did not want to damage anything. I did pull the head and inspect the cylinder/piston. There is surface rust on the cylinder/piston. The Carburetor is The Schebler and Oiler is The Lunkinheimer and have 1902 Patent Dates. This motor is for a serious collector/restorer and will need a complete overhaul of bearings, gaskets, etc. Motor will be professionally packaged/insured. This is a VERY hard to find original Schebler brass carburetor for and early car, truck, tractor, marine engine or other application. It is in as found condition from an old farm shop and seems to be in remarkable condition for its age. It has a 1 1/2 inch intake and a 1 5/8 opening in the flange. It mounts with two holes 2 15/16 inches apart on center. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. The throttle shaft has some wear and would be easy to rebush if you so choose. The needle valve moves as it should and everything seems to be in great shape. This carb measures about 9 inches tall overall. It surely would look great all polished up! These large Schebler carburetors are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. The pictures tell the story. Nice engine that reminds me of a Domestic if you look at the castings and gears. Doane Trask is engine builder on tag. Lots of brass and shines up nice. Have not ran in a while and honestly I don’t feel like cranking it. See reversing mechanism on exhaust cam. IM MOVING NEXT MONTH THIS HAS TO GO>>>(NO REASONABLE OFFER REFUSED)>>>To make arrangements to look at it call JOHNNY at three, zero, nine, three , six, three, zero , two , four , six, for more information. Supposedly never ran, but I cant guarantee that. This engine has been sitting at my Dads since the 50s. The story behind it was he bought it from a guy who was scrapping out a warehouse full of them up north. They were all brand new government surplus engines still on skids in crates. He was scrapping the Brass off of them carb, water pump, oilier, distributor, etc. My Dad got this one complete, with plans to build a boat to match it, but never got to it. He died three years ago Valentines Day. I have never seen it run, but it turns over real smooth and has alot of compression. No doubt it would start right up, its still like new. Never had oil or grease in it yet. It should probably be in a museum. Replacement engine manual included. To be picked up at your local or UPS Ive had a lot of questions, —(Ok here is my best answer as to why I believe its a new engine) My Dad said it was…. Looking down the spark plug hole, -there is no carbon–the piston is clean. The oilers and greasers have never had anything in them either, and the water pump/timing gears have zero wear on them. Inside the distributor there is (zero wear) on the roller and points. Looking inside the bottom, and the ports, are clean like new. There has never been anything bolted to the drive Hub either. For all these reasons, I believe its new, BUT cant guarantee that for sure because I dont know. Anything else I can check on, or any better photos just ask. Thank you for your interest in this old boat engine. The spark box is included, so all you need is gas and a battery. 9-21-16 Got myself all ready to start it up yesterday. Checked the plug gap bought a 6 volt battery and hooked it all up and its all hot and working….. Looked at the piston (its new) zero carbon on top, put a spoon full of oil in it…. Primed it –turned it a few turns to get it ready, but dammit!! I dint have the nerve to fire it up. I thought it might explode or something, so I just couldnt do it. Then I looked at the drive hub again, —never had a bolt in it—looked at the timing gears, —brand new , –no wear at all (pretty sure this is a new engine), it even has the original Grey Marine carb, and ive heard everybody replaced them with a shebler carb. This needs a good home make offers Please — ill send it right to you the next day. The item “Hit and miss Grey Marine Engine” is in sale since Saturday, December 17, 2016.
