Here is a carb from possibly a 4 or 6hp IHC famous or victor gas engine based on looking at pics in catalogs. It was used on a fuller & johnson 5hp DE for 44 years that my family owned. It has a adapter on the intake end to fit the bolt holes on a DE. This is what i have. One return pipe needs to be extracted from the threaded area on the bottom. This is a very hard to find original fuel mixer for a 2 or 3hp International Harvester Vertical Famous or Titan hit and miss gas engine. I believe it also fits the Famous Junior engines. It is part number G1583 and mounts to the side of the head with two holes 3 inches apart on center. There are no cracks breaks or repairs in the castings that I can see or know of. The fuel needle has been replaced at some point and it appears to be too short. I would be easy enough to make a longer one and also make the knob smaller as the originals were. The choker pin in the lower intake also needs to be replaced. The overall assembly measures about 18 inches long. It needs some attention to the thread on the bottom of the fuel bowl but this should be pretty straightforward. With just a little effort it should be ready to go to work on an engine or on the shelf for a spare. These vertical Famous parts are tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don’t miss your chance on it. The pictures tell the story. For your consideration is an Original Fairbanks Morse 3 or 6hp throttle governed carburetor. The mounting pattern is 3-1/4 spacing. This is the carburetor/mixer housing with both needle valves which turn and the line feed for the tank, both needles are spring loaded, the fuel cover which is missing the finger hold tab, the butterfly is turning as it should but needs attention to be spring loaded and the intake plate is spring loaded. The intake throat is just under 1-1/4. 1 of the mounting bolts are included with it. Both screws are present for the external needle/fuel assembly. This is the carburetor/mixer housing with 2 needles that dont have the original knobs but both needles turn, the fuel cover, the butterfly and the intake plate which turns and is spring loaded like it should be. The intake choke plate is spring loaded as it should be. There is a brass drain valve on the bottom. There is a short segment of fuel line for the external tank. Its in original patina.
