This is a really nice original Accurate Type R rotary magneto. It was used on the earliest 6hp Type M engines with ignitor ignition. It was also standard equipment on the 1, 1 3/4, and 2 1/2hp Mogul engines. It was also optional equipment on the vertical Famous, and some of the horizontal Famous and Titan engines and some others. It mounts with two holes 2 inches apart on center and the mounting threads are in great shape. It is in great used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has very little wear in the bearings and has the original name band on it. It turns over nice and smoothly with excellent magnetic pull and puts out a hot, fat, blue spark! It needs two washers and a compression spring on the leadout post to be complete. These are available from the hobby suppliers or you could easily make some. With the addition of these it will be ready to be put to use on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare! It’s one of the nicest brass R magnetos I’ve had in quite some time. They usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work but not this one. The pictures tell the story. The engine is in really nice shape mechanically, starts easy on the magneto and will run all day long. I have only owned the engine about a week, and I have ran it probably no less than 15 hours. Runs so good I just let it run all day. There are no cracks, breaks or welds anywhere on this engine that I have been able to find. Fuel pump looks and works like new, this engine never has trouble keeping the gas level right up there in the carb. NO gas or water leaks anywhere. No knocks, clunks, or bad noises with this engine. Governor works perfectly, if you put a load on it, she’ll snap right to it. Original nameplate and original muffler. Pulley isn’t correct but works just as good. Original crankcase breather, and original key guard. No starting crank, but I start it just by spinning the flywheels by hand. Great working original ignitor. There really isn’t anything on this engine you can knock, it’s a real good example of a 1hp Mogul. Whoever ends up with will be quite happy. Ready for the shows. This is a real nice original cast iron clutch pulley for a 2 1/2hp Mogul or 3hp Type M gas engine made by the International Harvester Company. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except one repaired spoke on the carrier. A very nice job was done and it’s very tough to notice especially when it’s on an engine. Everything works as it should and there doesn’t seem to be very much wear anywhere on the pulley. It has new wooden shoes installed and is ready to go to work. The pulley has a 4 1/2 inch face and is 10 inches in diameter. It has a 1 3/4 inch bore to fit on the crankshaft. It is a factory pulley for 2 1/2hp Mogul or 3hp M as shown in the parts books. It will fit on other engines with a 1 3/4 inch crankshaft as well. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original clutch pulleys are next to impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off! They also make it much easier to run belt driven implements with your engine. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. These are original IHC Mogul Hit Miss engine trucks. Very rare trucks for the 2-1/2 hp mogul engines. The wheels are 14 inches in diameter and a 3 inch face. The old wood rails are 16 inches wide and 48 inches long. Might be able to find a ride for them to certain shows or can be picked up in sandwich. HAVE ADVERTISED LOCALLY FOR SALE TOO. This is a real nice old Accurate R rotary magneto for a single cylinder gas engine. It was most commonly used on the International Harvester Mogul engines 1, 1 3/4, and 2 1/2hp. It was also used on the 6hp IHC Type M, and an option on some of the IHC Famous and Titan engines. It has a nice brass body and is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks except for the original name band which could be repaired or replaced with one from several of the hobby suppliers. It appears to have been rebuilt at some point and it also appears to have been bushed in the drive end. The base is in excellent condition and mounts with a 2 inch bolt pattern. The mounting threads are in excellent condition. It turns nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings and excellent magnetic pull. It puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. These magnetos are tough to find so if you need one for any reason don’t miss your chance on it. Engine is painted up nice. I have not ran the engine, mag is brass, it has a cracked magnet, mag works. There is a chip out of the muffler, the ignitor has a ear broken off and needs fixed, see picture. The fuel pump actuating lever needs put on. Gas tank looks good.
