Here is a very hard to find unbroken head for a 2-1/4hp Hercules or Economy. There are no cracks, breaks, or welds. The valves look and feel great, they only have a very minimal amount of wear. This is a very nice original and VERY hard to find brass check valve for a steam pump of some kind. I don’t know exactly what engine it is for and may fit several so if you know please educate me. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know or. With the exception of the lower tail nut it is complete with the dome and all of the internals are inside. Although it isn’t marked I think it was made by Buckeye Brass Works as most of these were. It has 1″npt male threads in both places and has “4425 in raised numbers on the body. The body measures about 12 inches tall. It looks to have some original green paint on the body. This is a very nice original example. If you need one for any reason this one should serve the purpose. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. These original brass check valves are almost impossible to find in. The wild or even at swap meets so don’t miss your chance one this one. Fits a 2hp Sparta Economy hit and miss engine. No Cracks, Breaks, or Welds. About 10-7/8″ x 8-7/16″ and 7-7/8 tall. The mounting patter might be about 5-1/2″ x 5″ but the holes are slotted so it could be a little different. This is an original cast iron sub base for a 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It should fit all of the variations of 3hp Z engines. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. The crankcase mounts to it on a 9 x 17 inch hole pattern and the theads are in perfect shape. This sub base should be ready to be used under an engine. The pictures tell the story. These original unbroken, unrepaired sub bases are quite tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would be a great replacement for yours with a broken or repaired mounting foot. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. This is a very hard to find cast iron starting crank for an International Harvester 1hp Tom Thumb or Famous/Titan hit and miss gas engine. It fits on a 1 1/8 inch crankshaft and will work to start many engines but it came from the factory with a Tom Thumb or 1hp Famous/Titan engine. The starting lug is in great shape with very little wear. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is part number G6515 and has a prominent IHC logo cast into it. This crank should be ready to go to work starting an engine! These cranks are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one to complete a restoration here it is. It would surely make starting your engine easier!
