This is a really nice original and rare BF Avery cream separator made by BF Avery in Louisville, Kentucky in the early to mid 19teens. It is a Model 40 and is in excellent used condition with most of it’s original paint, stenciling, and striping! The bearings all seem to be in good shape. It turns as it should even after sitting for many years. It stands about 45 1/2 inches tall. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It has the original valve in the bowl and the original pail shelf is on it. It even has the original float in the top spout. This is a very rare cream separator with only 3 total Avery separators known and this being the oldest of the 3. (This information was supplied by the fella that wrote the collectible cream separator book). This would be a great addition to your Avery collection or display. I can deliver to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. Original and unusual cream separators like this don’t turn up that often so don’t miss your chance on it. It may be the only chance you get at an Avery cream separator! This is a real nice old headlight for a railroad locomotive. It is very unusual in that it is mostly cast iron construction. The housing and bonnet are all cast iron and the mounting framework is steel. It has a great look to it and is in excellent condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than the pivot pin in the hinge for the lens and the nut that holds it closed. It is also missing a small portion of one of the side lens retainers but this would be an easy repair and doesn’t affect anything the way it is. This light is quite large measuring about 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 18 inches tall. As you can see I wired a temporary cord onto it. It lights up just as it should. The wires coming out of the housing are old and hard and should probably be replaced but it does work the way it is. The temporary cord I will keep for my next project. It has had the original glass locomotive number panels that go in the side frames replaced with masonite panels. It is extremely bright and really lights up the neighborhood at night! It has “GN” casting numbers and I don’t know which railroad it originally came from. If you do please educate me. I do know that lights like this are. Extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. I can also deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, swap meets or engine shows next year. The pictures tell the story. This is an extremely nice original cam gear for a 3hp vertical International Harvester Famous or Titan hit and miss gas engine. It is part number G1010 and measures about 7 inches in diameter and is 3/4 inch thick with 40 teeth. It is complete with the cam and cam nut and goes on a 7/8 inch diameter cam shaft. It is for the thermo syphon tank cooled engines and not the screen cooled engines as there is no eccentric to drive the water pump. It might be able to be converted but I don’t know that so please do your homework if you plan to go that route. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs and the teeth have no noticeable wear. It is ready to go to work on an engine or on the shelf for a spare. These parts are tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don’t miss your chance on it. The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. This is an extremely hard to find original ignitor for an International Harvester 1hp Famous or Titan hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It mounts with two 11/32 inch holes 2 3/16 inches apart on center. Please measure your engine or consult your parts book to be be sure it fits your application. Everything moves and functions as it should. There is some very minor wear on the movable shaft and trip finger and very little wear on the points. I believe it’s ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. Root & Vandervoort 1 HP Hit and Miss Engine – This is a rather desirable, rare engine in the small 1 HP with skeleton base. Not positive on the year it was made. I believe it was the early teens, and Not positive what model it is, possibly AR. If you have any information that you would like to share send me a message. I have only just looked over the engine for a few minutes, I will tell you what I know. After looking it over it has a somewhat fresh coat of paint on it(last few years). It seemed timed well enough and in order enough to give it a test start. It did start right up and seemed like it would run, but I only ran it for a few moments. It seems like it wasnt latching out properly. It needs some adjustments and It will need new babbit bearings all around, as there is no shims left. The crank has a good amount of pitting on it and it has ok to medium low compression, enough to run. I believe it will also need other various work to make this engine in good running condition, possibly rings or valve work or bushings. It is going to need some work. I think in the right hands this could end up being a very nice collector piece. Seems to be all complete except for the exhaust pipe. I think it will need some new springs they do not seem right. Has a Good Oiler, Good Fuel tank and Pulley. No Cracks or Breaks or Welds that I can see anywhere! This model has flywheels & gas tank that hang below the base.
